What is your view regarding low dollar exchange rate .....for Philippines i think it's a great news cause it signifies good economy though our fellow overseas contract worker might be affected negatively due to this........what is your opinion about this?

I agree with gloryacam, this usually happens when we have a new President. The people are just so positive about the new government. Although, I haven't felt any improvement in the lives of most Filipinos, probably it would still take time.

You're right, it may signify a good sign for our economy, but for an ofw like me, it’s has a negative effect on our remittances not unless they will implement a roll back on the price of all the basic needs.

The peso is finally getting stronger. The exchange rate is something like 43 to a dollar. That means the Filipinos still have to work 43 times harder compared to an American. If we can make that go lower, then the average Pinoy income earner can also enjoy the same privileges and luxury as the Americans.

It's a natural phenomenon every time a country changes its head. It's too early to tell whether the peso is getting stronger or not. I am hopeful that it could mean the country's economy is getting better, but, it could also mean that the US currency is getting weaker. If the exchange rate is getting better against all other, or at least a majority of other currencies of the other countries, maybe we could say that the peso has gotten stronger. If, indeed, the peso is getting stronger, meaning the economy is improving, I don't think it would be bad at all for the overseas contract worker. I think it would be best in the end, because if the economy has gotten stronger, then, maybe it would be time that they get home to their families here.

I don't have any background with this thing but it just annoys me when ofw or their families trying to complain about this thing. They should be happy that their country is doing good with it's economy. No offense but it sounds selfish already and how long they are going to be outside this county. Who knows if the economy is doing great they don't need to go abroad or when they are old enough they can go back here and enjoy just like the foreign people does too. ;)

It's because the US money's value went down so it raised the peso power a bit but that isn't good at all because it just mean we still haven't improved much.
