Hey Mylotters, do you have any remedy for rashes or allergy on the mouth? I've had this allergy ever since eating something that I don't really know, caused the allergy. I guessed it was some kind of chili but I can't really be sure. Can somebody help? Thanks.

You should go to an allergist--they can test your allergic reaction to many types of food and other allergens and really help you narrow it down. There are many things in chili that can cause an allergic reaction--or even a reaction to too much acid. I, for one, am allergic to onions, and sometimes get a similar reaction if I eat something that has onions in it (obviously without my knowledge). There are many people who are allergic to tomatoes, garlic, peppers, etc. For immediate relief, I concur with the suggestion that you take benadryl--if it really is a food allergy, this should provide some immediate relief.

Yea i also suspect that it's related to eating chilis.

I know several people who are allergic to peppers, and I would guess the hotter the pepper, the worse the reaction. Good luck!

Hi Judge, Have you seen a doctor for this? Is it like a mouth ulcer? I had a friend who always has mouth ulcers and he thought it was because he has taken some heaty stuff, so he drank a lot of herbal tea, but it didn't really worked because the problem occurs again and again. He went to a Chinese doctor and found out that he has made the wrong assumption, actually it is because his liver is weak and he needs to take some herbs that will nourish his liver instead. I think it is best that you consult a doctor and find out the source, whether it is rashes or allergy, do not try to administer medicine on your own.

I've seen the doctor last time and she told me that it's an allergy and told me to try and find out the cause. My first guess was belachan but I'm not too sure either. Argh, so uncomfortable now geez~

So, you need to experiment on yourself? You must be prepared for discomfort then. Try not to eat chilli for a while and see how.

hi judgeironfist I would go to a specialist like a dermatologist as so often family doctors do not always know what causes these rashes specially in the mouth area. you could try benadryl and see if that helps as you can get it over the counter for allergies. then if that does not help; go to a dermatologist.

If the rash is inside your mouth , rinse your mouth w/warm salt water. Repeat it pretty often. It should help.

I've seen the doctor. He says that it's a viral infection. Anyway thanks for the advice!

Hiya Judge, Much better to consult a Doctor with that one. Especially seeing as no one knows what it is really. He will be able to give you a treatment and tell you what to avoid so they don“t come back again.

Try benadryl. It's for allergies caused by foods and other allergy causing elements. If that doesn't work you should try asking your doctor about getting some prescription allergy medicine. When you get a small rash like that it is usually your body telling you not to eat that certain thing or you will have an even worse reaction which could be pretty bad. Try also getting an allergy test as well because that can also tell you what ingredient your allergic to. Hope my advice helps. Best of luck.
