Stonehenge continues to bring forth surprises. Chemical tests on teeth indicate that this boy grew up around the Mediterranean Sea. He was around 14 or 15 when he died and wore an amber necklace. Other remains are of individuals from the foothills of the Alps in Germany suggesting that it was a centre for travel from many parts of Europe. Perhaps people even travelled as family groups.

I am very interested in history and did you know that the Welsh, the original ones, not the ones who intermarried with the Vikings, are the same type as the people who used to live in Greece and Rome? That also this type expanded through all the coastal areas? I would like to see a link about this and where you found the information about it. I do not know what to make of the amber necklace unless it was that he came from a rich family. But it does prove that the idea that our ancestors were brutes is wrong. You have to be quite intelligent to travel through wild areas.

Considering the magnificence of the stone structures themselves, the place must have been one of extreme importance in its day. So, it must have drawn folks from faraway places. They may have come on pilgrimages in large groups and families may have come to settle in a new area. The secrets of Stonehenge may never be discovered. It is interesting nonetheless.
Thanks for the info...

This research is very fascinating. When I think of the planet, I think of the age of it and I have read that mankind becamse nomadic as his population numbers grew - firstly in Africa. It is said that we then had problems with feeding ourselves and started to wander away from our main home further and further. Over millions of years, we evolved to cope with the climate of each country and as we ventured north to colder and darker climates, our skin needed to absorbe more sunlight than it did in Africa, so we became lighter. We also needed better eyesite, so our eyes lightened up too, into green and lighter blue. There is a beautiful message in all this that we are all come from the same original tribe or family, meaning that we are all related, all the same.

Oh, I didn't know that. That's pretty interesting! I wonder why they all went there?
