While surfing through mylot i come across many discussions. I find that girls get more responses to discussions than guys do. I am just telling in general. I think some of the guys would agree with me. Why do you think girls get more responses? Or maybe you think otherwise? No offense to any gender here. Cheers!

Hmmm..I think i have to disagree with this discussion.I am not being boastful..based on my experience,i received numerous response every time i post discussion.you can see my discussions to see if i am telling the truth or not.i think it all depends upon on what is being discussed.if you discussion is interesting, you will received numerous response.that is based on my experience.the least number of response i got in my discussion, is i think it's 20..again i am not being boastful.it's a better choice of discussion.the title is also very important, you have to make it sure that it can attract more people to respond on your discussion.it is really nice to express feelings here especially if it is based on your personal experience.thanks for posting this wonderful discussion.i'm sure you will tell me at the end that guys received numerous response than girls.this discussion will show you that i am correct.happy mylotting.

I thinks girls are much descriptive in posting topics for discussions while guys are direct to the point, brief and concise. Girls words are soft and sweet maybe, (lol).

Perhaps you are right in saying girls get more replies generally than males. I think this is mainly due to the discussions started by girls seem to be more interesting than with the guys. eg I see so many guys that break the TOS by starting polls etc and less girls do that. Maybe guys are less likely to read the TOS I don't know. I think guys are more interested in making money than starting interesting discussions. They still seem to think that responding to more discussions without any real content will increase their earnings here on mylot when it has little if no value.

Well,I think so.it's because guys always have interests on females fellows. a funny suggestion, you could change your avatar to a pretty girls picture.I guess that way you will get more responses when you start a disccussion.haha....

There is no hard and fast rule on this but Girls get preference in every field, it may be job or MyLot responses. Look at it this way, I believe that girls has more creative thinking about any particular subject, they have enough to write in discussion or in response. I remember Bindu who will write number of lines just for one line response. it's not that she is writing same things to all the responses but every response is based on the earlier response, she writes very good.

I am not surprised to notice that .In fact ,if guys got more responses than girls ,it would surprse me .It can't be too natural to hear that .In general ,there are more men than women in SNS websites ,such as mylot ,Twitter,Facebook etc.Men feel more lonely than women .As the saying goes ,less is more .there is no wonder why Guys tend to respond to girls .

I am not sure how true that is. I respond to discussions half the time without knowing what gender anyone is.. I have seen male users get tons of responses.. Lamby/Mykl was one of them.. I think it is all in the matter of the Post itself.. some just beg for responses and others don't.

Hmm I don't notice about this. All I care is about responding to discussions and making quality discussions. Perhaps why girls get more responses is because they may have more life experiences that people may have experienced before and that boys do not experience all this? Perhaps it's just by chance? Yea this's what I think.

Well, I dont agree with this. Atleast i have never considered the gender when responding to a discussion. I just see if the I have something to respond to that discussion and if yes, I do it. Also there are so many people who have not described their gender in their profile but still they get the responses. So for me, its nothing like a gender discrimination on mylot, may be on facebook but not on mylot for sure.

There is more emotion to the women's posts, hence, readers can relate to what the post is all about. Not saying that guys' posts are emotionless but that most girls' posts provoke emotions. Or maybe most girls' posts would elicit reaction from women. And, yes, women's posts are generally more descriptive, hence, easier to respond to.

Well emotion that is there for sure... because i know a girl who joined two days ago and she made a discussion which got her 37 replies and counting now also in just 2 days. I had to struggle for a couple of months to get such a discussion. oh well. Not complaining here...

I think it's us, girls. One reason i can think of is that, girls are the ones really thinking when they start new discussions. They are thinking about the long term effects of having lots of responds coming in over the time. While some guys, they start upon impulse or whatever comes to their mind. They have no planning at all, and that's where they fail. U can see that if a guy and a girl starts the same discussion with same title, more than often we will see more responses on the girl's side, because there's enough content to describe the overall post.
