We are all aware that for the past few years there is a global problem in garbage disposal and more and more programs are developed in different countries to address this problem. In the Philippines, supermarkets now have this program wherein once a week, customers need to bring their own "green bags" or else they are forced to pay for the plastic bags used for their purchases. "Green bags" are made of non-woven fabric which can be repeatedly used, thus reduces garbage. This is a good start. After the Philippines was hit by the typhoon Ondoy last year, it's now obvious that a lot of Filipinos suddenly realized the importance of taking care of the environment. I hope that more and more Filipinos will support this program and buy their own "green bags" even though they have the money to pay for the plastic bags. It is never too late to start taking care of the environment. Let's all do our share.

I like the the concept of going green. Too many plastic bags already. It's a good thing we are all starting to realize the value of using environment friendly bags.
