That Goblin's Been At It...Again!

We all know there's a Goblin in this house disrupting things on a regular basis. He's responsible for hiding my wedding ring (since found), causing light bulbs to blow, fiddling with my kitchen unit so it now looks ugly and generally..well, misbehaving really. He's an extremely naughty Goblin. Yesterday I was in the process of getting up from my slumber. Whilst doing so I heard the telephone. Now, I wasn't prepared to rush downstairs as - if it was important, a message would be left on our ansaphone..and one was..or so I thought!! After getting ready and eating breakfast, I turned the computer on and thought, "Oo, I must check my ansaphone" and looked at the telephone, realising that the little light wasn't flashing that would indicate a message being left. Sure enough, I pressed the "Play" button and the recorded voice said, "You Have NO Messages!" Honestly, I didn't dream this man's voice, I could've SWORN a message had been left. So, what I did then was to dial 1471 which gives out the last number dialed. Sure enough, someone HAD rang the time I thought BUT the number was WITHHELD!! How weird! The ansaphone can't be full because we always delete messages as soon as we hear them, so there is never any more than one on there at a time. All I can think of is that the guy left the message BEFORE the beep so it's not registered. But that doesn't explain me hearing him upstairs does it? That Goblin is to blame! He's also responsible for fiddling with our washer/dryer door so it takes at least 3 goes to slam the door, then the machine whirrs into action. It's only a matter of time before he breaks it altogether! He needs a good "seeing-to!"
