Pros and Cons of Short URL Sites

This is more of a question for you guys then me giving you my opinion on the good and bad site of shortening url's for money. I would like to shorten some urls and post them places, I've done this in the past but I didn't get what I wanted out of it. I am willing to try again, but my fear is no one will want to click if they see it's a short url. I mean, I click short url's for people because I know it makes them money and it helps them, but I know some don't like to do so because they have to wait for the ad to go by, or some other annoying nonsense. I'd like to shorten urls for something so that I can hopefully make a little extra money but I only concern is is it worth it to annoy people, when I also want them to go to the site I am shortening? Does this make sense? Can anyone offer me there opinion on the matter?
