Since the inception of ebooks, I do not have the chance to download one not until last month. I am not a techi guy and I just want my phone to do the basic SMS and calling features. So, last month I saw the Amazon Kindle latest release and since I love reading, I got interested unto it. I just lost my interest on it because 1) it applications are only applicable to US (though they have Global version, I find it so troublesome to buy online without having a US credit card) and 2) it is quite expensive. I did check some of the stores here in Singapore for other ebook reader and I got interested with Iriver but then again, it so costly. So I just have one option and that is to download ebook on my own mobile. PDF file did not work properly thus, I search an alternative. Good thing there is Microsoft reader (.txt) version I found on the net and works perfectly fine on my mobile. Now I have 32 novels on my fone and so far finish 6 of them. I enjoy it a lot since it is very convenient since it is inside my fone. I do not need to bring around heavy books when travelling. So happy!

Congrats, I think you're doing the right thing here. I never managed to get used to reading novels in electronic format; I have no problem with news, articles, manuals, reference books - just not literature. My eyes are all over the place, I tend to skip paragraphs, my head hurts - all in all, I ruined some pretty good novels by trying to read the ebook. On the long term, I think ebooks will be cheaper and easier to obtain than paper books, even if the initial investment seems higher now, so you're on the right path.

Hi! I love reading novels. And it does not make any difference to me now that I have an elctonic copy as I am used to read small text :) I just make it a point now to overdo it as my eyes will be strained by long time staring on the screen. And to add on, I did not make any investment at all as I just download the apps from the net and the ebooks as well all for FREE!

I think it is something you need to get used to, NoWayRo, reading ebooks I mean. In the beginning it is hard, but once you get used to it, it's fine. At least it was that way for me!

Hi puccagirl, Thank you, I'll keep trying. I think I should do it fast, too, before my eyes get too old and my habits too difficult to kick :)

fanfictions are stories written by fans. they can be based on books, TV shows or movies. aside from fanfictions, i also love suspence and mystery books. i recently got a file for young adult ebooks, if you're interested. :)

well i enjoy them too and im planning to buy a cheap ebook reader if i can find one. they say that the microsoft one is better and more cheap than the kindle but sadly i havent seen one personally. with the kindle i find it sometimes too "lengthy" for me too carry anywhere.

ebooks on mobile is just as comfortable as ebook itself. at least I do not have to bring an extra gadget when I'm travelling. Pdf format will not fit unto what mobile PC you have so you have to zoom in and out and scroll up and down, right and left which is way to inconvenient for me. For Microsoft reader, it will fit perfectly unto your screen so you can browse the text anf just scroll it down while reading. It's just a breeze!

Yes. You have to search ebooks with .txt file. That you don't have to worry as there are many free ebooks with the said format on the net.

I've finished another one last night and just started one more. I love Nora Robert's novels. How about you? Maybe I have to start downloading more ebooks now as I finish those I have faster than I expected. What is your ebook format by the way? I am just wondering since we both like romance novels, we can swap ebooks :)

That's a great tip! I have been thinking about Kindle, but have not gotten around to it yet. But reading on your phone is probably even better! I need to look into that! Thanks for the tip!

Me too! I am an ebook reader through my cellphone. I've got a library now. I don't know how many ebooks exactly but mostly are romance novels. I try to save another copy before I erase them to save up space on my memory stick. Yes, it makes me so happy too that I have a copy of a certain book through ebook reading. But for me, nothing beats a real book to hold on to and flip pages to. =) I still buy real books though and yes, it makes me crazy happy still. =)

Now I seldom buy books and depends mostly on ebooks :) Much cheaper by this way. I haven't had the chance to download some novels again but will do once I got once free weekend. I also save it on my dependable micro SD. Good thing that I am not fond of pictures so all I can save more ebooks there. Since you are fond of romance novel, do you read Nora Roberts' novels? Happy reading!
