Today, after work my friends and I went to Discover Mill, and D&B to play pool, and have some beers. Surprisingly, the front desk lady ask us to give her car key rather than keeping the license. After my friend inquiry, she said that many people would rather leave their driver's license behind than pay for the billiard games. They simply walk away. And they can always re - apply for another license from DMV department. Holding their key is different story. Majority of them still have to drive home. So, keeping the customer's car key became a new policy. Wow, I didn't even know how bad are those people's ethics. Something new to learn everyday, isn't it?

I have not been to a bar in years, but the billiards we have here are coin operated so no coins,,, no play. But I suppose like you said people can get a duplicate ID for a few dollars the key to their car can cost over $100 to replace (+ the others on the key ring) & a lift home. I imagine they get husseled even more with the economy being not so good.

Yeah, I was surprised now they don't accepted driver's license as collateral, now they rather taking car keys? My friend reluctantly took out his key for the exchange of those rack and balls.
