Should kids be restricted to clean music?

Clean music, I mean there are no cuss words in the song. So why would you like them to not hear this kind of speech when you are practicing freedom of speech. Isn't censorship a pain in the a$$ for many freedom fighters? Why do parents like censorship for their kids and not for themselves?
This doesn't apply to all. Hopefully you have something to say.

I am not a parent. If a parent wants to censor what their children is exposed to, that is fine. But as an adult I resent parents forbidding the entire public, adults and children included, censoring what every citizen sees to only child-"safe" works. I don't want to see only films or works for children, I want more mature works as well. Why should my rights be violated for your phobias?
So keep your children in check if you so desire. Please leave us who are adults alone.

What if you become a parent? What would you do?

I believe that every man has the freedom of speech and express their feelings, but I also believe to put this in a right and good way. Values are very important and we can express this through in our actions and also on what words we are saying.
In case of music stuff...I do want to let my child hear songs with clean and pure words. I would try to listen and watch for what my kids are listening so to guide them more better. And if they end up on these songs, I would clearly explain to them that it is bad and not to copy these bad words or situation in a song.
Guidance is the parents responsibility so that their children would grow right and good human beings. Love comes along on all of these since through this guidance, you are loving them in a right way.

How will you express your anger if you have kids around? Won't you try to censor yourself as much as possible huh?
What if they hear the words you don't like and ask you what they mean, would you lie to them? For example they ask "What is an a$$h0le?" what would you have said? Would you have lied? Isn't lying a bad example for children?

I will not be angry to them. There is no reason to get angry with them since I know that children are innocent enough to be angry at. You should not freak out either! Most of the parents freak out and get angry to their child. This is where argument usually come after. There will be no help with the conversation now....
I'll just tell them nicely. In a nice way. Clearly and simply explain.
I will see to it that they will grow up in grace and beauty and in the knowledge of God. They should have God fearing attitude. It is difficult for a parent to do this to a child but it is their responsibility to introduce God to their children. Inculcating spirituality into their lives is a hard task I know.
With this, they can grow up to be obedient and respectful.
I will tell the truth. There is no need to lie about these things.

I think why parents like the censorship is simply because kids don't know when it's appropriate to use those words & not to use them. We all drop our fair share of cuss words daily and I know I'm guilty of it. But when my kids start asking what this or that means I don't know what to say as they are young. Yes I like to listen to Lady Gaga however, how do I explain what a Disco Stick is?!?!? And how do I keep her from saying that chorus line with it in there even though at her age she has no idea what it means but I do! Plus as adults we don't always know what the singer is trying to say ourselves, we may just like the beat not even realizing what the words mean in the song.

So do you think, when teenagers become parents they will realize that censorship is good because they have kids? Isn't it usually the elders who are not against censorship but when the kids become the parents they figure it out because they now have kids? Do you think it is just a matter of maturity and realization that censorship isn't as bad as it seems to be?

Yes they should be. Especially young kids. As a parent, I don't want them to talk dirty at a very young age. Their minds are too young to really mean those words.

So you like censorship for kids. Why do you have to be older to be allowed to listen to these things?
Maybe censorship has it's purpose after all.
