thats can be 1 of the factor, but if he use internet connections with bandwidth 1Mb, thats should be fine if we open lots of sites in 1 times, analyzing network problem usually do from hardware config, like modem or router and from the software, our operating systems and programs that run in background. base on my experience, internet connection in windows machine is slower than in linux machine, the difference is about 10% - 20%. thats because in windows so many packet will be send in traffic, to resolve it u must config the windows registry for network service

yupz.. it can be from ISP, but u can check from your machine too, i assume u use MS Win in your machine. try find out what service running on the background that requesting update, like windows update, some of software sometimes requesting automatic updates, and antivirus. open your task manager, then look @ network tab. if u in idle process, but network traffic is full load, maybe it can be viruses infected your systems. for comprehensive checking, use wireshark, then look @ the packet in your traffic gud luck ^^

hi sinaj292; slow connection could be caused by a lot of reasons/ issues. Who is your ISP by the way? and if they say that there is maintainance, well the only thing we could do is wait. For how long, honestly i can't say... it depends on how large the trouble is. other factors are temporary internet files stored on your browser. try to delete them (cache and cookies from internet options. could be the modem as well. since this equipments have firmware, and if they do not have upgraded version, my suggestion, ask for a replacement. try to check as well if every program on your PC is slow. that would suggest that either your PC's memory (physical and virtual) are close to being full. It could also be either viruses or spywares acting on your PC. try to run some secuity software and if in doubt, try online scanners. they're free and often times detect those not detected by licensed securities (update issues over the net). do you know your speed plan? if so, go to http://speedtest.net and test your speed. if it is a lot lower than your speed plan, get in contact again w/ your ISP and verify (average/ acceptable speeds are at least 60% of your speed plan for donwload rate). hope this helps
