why parents forced their daughter to marry?

Positive view, they want their daughters to have a good future. Negative note, to avoid their responsibility. Nowadays, there are parents who advise their daughters to be practical, hence force them to marry a wealthy man and sometimes old ones.

I understand what you mean, it's not really a good thing to do, but from their point of view marrying a rich man is more practical and a realistic ideal than to marry a por man who has no aspirations and who will not make anything for himself. Of course, marrying a rich man will not guarantee happiness, but I think from their point of view they just want their daughter to be well provided for and they probably hope that a man who has established himself will have a better chance of being able to make their daughter happy. A lot of people will say that money doesn't matter and that love is the most imprtant thing, while I agree that Love is the greatest thing on earth, Money still matters, and when you're poor and struggling to make ends meet, have trouble maintaining two basic meals on the table, you don't have the time or choice to think about romance... but yes, in an ideal world, marriage and love should go together...
