If it's just on an external device then just plug it on a clean computer, hold shift every five or less seconds and releasing it then pressing it again. This practice is just for the computer to not install the device. Navigate to your device and delete the shortcuts. The original files are still there, they are just hidden.

You don't have any other option than formatting your system. How hard you try by deleting the shortcut files it will multiply. These virus will be in the operating system files, they will be in active mode once you startup the system. Follow these steps 1) First copy all the important files on a external device. 2) Format the system. (all the drives) 3) load the new operating system (Windows 7 is the best) About the external device 4) Open the device in your friends system, who is using a Linux O.S. 5) Linux O.S will show all the hidden unwanted files(virus) Delete them one by one from each folder and clean up the external disk (except your important files) 6) copy back the remaining files to your new O.S. Better use a good anti-virus software before it. Avoid using other's external devices and do not open mails with attachments from unknown persons. (this is the main cause of virus effecting the system) If you need any help, just drop me a line. Happy to help.
