Is it really worth the time and energy to go after your favourite idols?

Personally, I don't really think so. In my country, those people who went after their idols even BRAVED THE RAIN and could wait up to hours just to get a ticket!!! Well I don't see them putting in the same kind of effort as they would, into their studies O.O A very small percentage of people will put in the same kind of energy into their studies. Those people are who I call, 'go all out in whatever they do' people.
Ok, the fans of the idols, I admire their courage of waiting but is it worth it? They could ruin their health! For me, at most I'll buy the album and listen to it everyday. If you get sick or what, will the idols you admire, even know? Even if they know, will they care?
Take note that this discussion is not directed at those die-hard fans of pop idols. It's not a hate or what discussion. It's just my own opinion that's all.

Hiya Judge,
I admire them too they must have a lot of fervour and enthusiasm as well to wait so long in those queues. Personally at the most that is what I would do buy the CD and go Home nice and warm and listen to it there.
It´s the same for me with Concerts it has to be someone very special for me to go all the way there wait that long and then maybe not get to hear the Concert properly either.

Yea that's the point. All I can do is just to buy the CDs. That's the most I can do to support.

Hiya Judge,
Well just with buying the CD you are doing more than enough as they make their money out of that too logically.
Apart from that not everyone can go to see them and follow them all over the place can they?

Hello!
I think yes,is really worth the time and energy to go after an idol. Why?Because, after all,he don't care so much about fans!He care only about his money, his time and his carrer!
I saw more shows with singers or actors when I was younger. But I did it if I can bought a ticket fast and for a good price.I did not stay in the rain for it Lol,because they don't pay me if I'm sick
I think the best way is:respect our idols,we must recognize what they do good, admire them, but that's all!
Good topic,my friend!

hi judgeironfist I think you have your head screwed on right, its one think to admire movie stars and pop singers but to stand in drenching rain oh no not me. I admire some stars but not to obsession at all. they are to me just some talented people who get paid well for their talent and I do not worship them at all.I have no real idols among any of them at that.

I'm an impatient person and I hate going through a crowd. The first and last time I ever went to a concert was a few year ago. I went with my boyfriend that time because he wanted to take me there so much even though I refused and said I wasn't interested. So, he kept pulling me to get through the crowd just to try to get at the front of the crowd, huh! I was fine and didn't complain till we got a good place to stand at. 20 minutes later, I suddenly had an urge of wanting to go to the toilet (no.2). and looking at how crowded it was behind us, I wanted to cry, plus I had no idea where the toilet is. I was honestly desperate that time. so my bf and I started struggling again, but no one would let us pass because they were worried if someone else may take over your place. Then a lady with high heel also stepped on my foot, oh! very painful that I started crying. After a long struggle, we finally got out of the crowd, took another 5 minutes looking for a toilet. Then after that, while crying I looked at my bf and I said to him, "if you want to stay, go ahead. I'm going back and I'm breaking up with you" (oh forgot to say, my toe was bleeding) and he said he's going back home with me. then until today, he never mention a concert anymore. we buy more CD instead. Those struggle didn't worth of my time.
