Query: Deleted Discussions in myLot

Hi myLotters! I just want to know why there are deleted discussion in mylot. I know one of the grounds for having a discussion deleted is when there are specific violations of the myLot rules and regulations. Recently I got two notifications informing me that my response was deleted because the discussion under it was deleted. The topics were about mangoes and water and personally there was no "apparent" violation on those topics. Obviously water and mangoes are wholesome topics and the discussion dwelt on consumption and eating/drinking them. I would like to ask if any of you had the same experience? Can the person who started the discussion delete his post indiscriminately? Or only mylot admin can do that? What could be other possible reasons for deleting a "discussion?" Please feel free to post any ideas or comments or reaction/feedback you may have on this. I would truly appreciate them. Thanks! Have a good day and happy myLotting everyone! :D

also I think mylot.com best send an email to the members involved explaining : what was deleted why it was deleted it seems easy enough to just delete stuff. but if members do not know the reasons why ... the same mistakes will just happen again ... What do you think ?

Good idea! I also want to know for the deletion of some of the discussions I've responded. I get upset sometimes when I get those notification emails about topic deletions. I try to choose the discussions I reply to so that I won't waste my effort in responding but it still happens sometimes. Your are definitely right in suggesting that they should include reason for deletion of topic so that I have a reference on what topics to reply in the future.

Hi ruperto & lilmisfit...thanks for your replies... it would be cool if we are also informed why the discussion was deleted at least we can also avoid repeating or doing the same mistake. It is surely a waste of time and effort if our responses will only be deleted afterwards especially if we are doing our best to make quality "response" to discussions posted in mylot. Thanks!

that was confusing. I'm sorry for it. I also will wonder why if i had something like that happen to me. But when we get deleted because of the discussion we under are deleted, I believe there was not reason whatsoever why it was deleted. Unless your the discussion that you started.
