As fast as I earn it, my kids spend it

Not through their own fault, there is just so much more for kids now than when I was a kid - electronic games etc.
This month, I've had to pay hundreds for school trips, clubs, sports memberships etc
My eldest is now raising some of his own money for his big trip this year by washing cars etc.

It's a good thing. You have people to spend your money and you are happy due to this. If you earn money, there is none to spend your money, that's a sad thing. Just like many old people without any kids, every day they just sit at home look at each other. There is no funny! So just try to earn more money and teach your kids how to use money and earn money and save money. that's it.

Hiya DJ,
Right on there are a load of expenses when Children are at School if it´s not one thing it´s the other.
I had to pay a lot for mine to go anywhere to. If they had to go on Educational trips I had to pay for them and the Material they had to take with them also.
I think it was worth it though as they have gotten to go and see places that they might not have ever been to in their Life.
So I paid out gladly for those kind of things.

Funny how that works out. This reminds me of a phrase Easy come Easy go, however money is not easy to come by.
It is getting nearly impossible to raise children and provide merely for the basic needs, technology sure does not help when they shove the great items in our face and drive us to want them more. Great that you son is raising money now, this should help a tad I hope.
