You know, I am perfectly fine with getting a "B" in school. Not completely thrilled, but hey, "B" grades are above average. However, when I was just a bit close to getting an "A" then a "B" is like the most awful thing in the world. I've gotten this grade before: "89.4". Had it been an 89.5, it would have rounded up to a ninety based on the grading regulations for my school and it would have been an "A" based on the grading scale. Had it been an 89.3 or an 89.2, or even just a round 89, I wouldn't be so frustrated with my performance. Have you ever gotten a real close borderline grade that if you had just gotten a little better, you would have gotten a better grade.

I remember when I was still in secondary school, they had this grading system that for any mark under 40 would be a fail grade (which means any mark from 0 to 39). Now there was this one test that most other students in my class failed as well, but I had a mark of 39 - another mark and I would have passed. I remember hogging the teacher after the class just to get her to pull my marks up by 1 mark but she wouldn't do it. That is why I hated that teacher right till this very day......

That is frustrating. It is one thing to not pass a class. However, coming so close to passing and falling short, that is somehow worse than getting some grade that is so far below passing that its horrifying. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
