Kind of music for getting sleep

What kind of music do you listen for getting sleep? Do you use soothing music like jazz or slow motion piano instrumental? Do you use nature sounds like rain? Or heavy instrumental music with drums to get worked up before sleep? I personally use nature sounds like rains with thunder as it gives me a relaxed feeling and rain sounds lullabies me into sleep. What about you? And if you use a particular type of music, why? Looking forward for hearing the responses.

I am pretty much addicted to music. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, music of other countries and cultures too. My favorite is classical music, slow and smooth. That's the way to relax and get rid off all the stresses of the day. That very much helps too in sleeping well.

I agree with you. Classical piano music with slow melodic rhythm is a great sleep inducer. Thanks for responding.

I haven't listened to nature sounds before sleeping but sound therapeutic, I love to try it. If I'm going to sleep I listen to instrumentals or tune-in in a radio station where they play mellow music.

I really don't have any kind of preferences when it comes to listening to music to lull me to sleep. Any kind of music is sufficient for me to relax and fall asleep. Maybe it's because I'm really not picky with music, but as long as it's music, I kind of get lost in the rhythm and melody and it really relaxes my mind and body. Yes even heavy metal ones.

Nature sounds are good for sleeping. Personally, I like the sound of the waves hitting the shore because it helps me relax. Aside from that, I also love listening to classical music to help me to sleep. There's just something so relaxing when listening to them that it puts me to sleep.

I am not that picky when it comes to choosing music for me to be able to sleep. But I have noticed that I fall asleep faster when I am listening to songs that talk about pain, hurt and sorrow, heartbreak and love. It doesn't have to be mellow as long as the theme is there.
