United States

The furthest place that I have been from home was a few hundred thousand miles away. I live in Virginia. But, I have once flown outside of the United States to the Bahamas. It was a very fun and nice trip.. I hope to go again soon! What is the furthest you guys have been from home?? Some people have never left their hometown or home state before. Are you one of those individuals?? If so, why??

in the dream world... i had been to places beyond reach by even proper imagination. but, in the real world... I have been to HIMALAYAS.. on the Indian Side... I live in Southern Part of India.. and so, It is the farthest I could reach.. I have trekked about 14 K.M into the mountains, to reach one peak of the Gigantic Icy tops of the Himalayan RANGE of mountains, and it was so serene, non-polluted, wonderfully peaceful place. It is near to GOD..

it is very very cold there. I believe to have read in my childhood geography classes, that because of these HIGH MOUNTAINS, India is saved from the cold-wave that creeps from the Russian/Chinese landscape.

I like to go outside, too sometimes. But, I have a strong dislike for insects.. so I don't be outside a WHOLE lot. Well.. I hope that gets better for you. No one should have to feel lonely n disturbed at any time. Thanks for commenting!!

Well the furthest I have been, in term distance and culture, is Japan, stayed there for a month. Wandering around in rural East Africa was nearer home. Been to South Africa which is also quite a way in miles. "...a few hundred thousand miles" to the Bahamas? all the best urban

Yes because it lasted soo long... I drove from my home to an airport and then flew to another airport where I hopped a cruise ship and went the distance of that for a few days just to hit land and hop another plane to another airport.. it was excellent. Next, I'd like to go to Jamaica or the Barbados. Thanks for commenting..

The furthest country that I have visited has been New Zealand when I was 29 years old. It was across the other side of the world to my home country which is called England. If I hadn't stopped off on that long haul journey it would have been a flight of over 24 hours. I stopped off in Los Angeles, French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. Then on my way home I stopped off in Samoa and Los Angeles again. I wouldn't want to fly for longer than 14 hours on a flight. I do stop overs and then I get to see more of the world at the different destinations.

Hi, I have been staying far from my hometown for more than 15 years and I have get used to independent lifestyle. I was away from my hometown for further study, then I work overseas and now I am married to an overseas guy. Therefore, for the rest of my life, I will be settling at another country which is far away from my hometown. However, I do visit my parents and siblings down to my hometown omce a year. It is always great to see them again.

That is wonderful that you still have that connection with your family. Distance should never come in between that. It is good to hear that you adapted well to your new independence and surroundings back then so that you are here today. Kudos to you. Thanks for sharing!!

I've actually had a lot of opportunities in my life to travel away from the state of my residence, I had family that lived in Ohio growing up and we lived in Kentucky, so that really wasn't very far away from home. However, I also had the opportunity to travel withing 300-400 miles from home with school trips when I was in middle school and high school. However, the furthest away that I've ever been from home was just before I started my senior year of high school and that was when I went to Paris, France and a tour of Italy with my church group.
