I been watching Pro Football and started to notice more helmets coming off when a play is going on? Do they not make the strap strong enough anymore? I can see someone getting seruisly hurt from this. It bad enough when the helmets are on and they are getting concusions etc.. Has anyone else notice more helmets coming during a play of game Pro Football?

Yes I have noticed this as well. Could it be the players aren't using the chin straps? Or maybe the straps aren't tight enough? We went to watch the Rams play Sunday and we noticed this on more than one play. Also saw a face mask penalty at which point the helmet was pulled off the player. Am just learning the game so it's been interesting.

hello carolbee, Thank you for the reply. yes, football is fun to learn about and it is good game to watch for most part. The fun part is the teams who lost last week usually win the next week games. Also Monday night football is getting ridiculous on the players after the tackle a guy they do all this pumping of there shoulders and other wierd gimmics because they know TV camera guy will put in on TV. I just want old fashion football not a circus of players thinking they are playing football. Thanks and have a great day Sincerely Unique16

Oh Yeah I have seen the victory touchdown dance and it's silly but most players do it. AmbiePam, we are season ticket holders but my husband doesn't always take me since I help out with the grandkids. The days vary and if the game falls on a babysitting day, I can't go. Sam B. is doing a great job. His interviews are amazing. So mature for a guy his age. I agree, you should claim him.

I haven't noticed it any more than last year. Strangely, the ones whose helmets come off, don't seem to be the ones who get concussions! Although, did you see the guy whose helmet came off, and another player accidentally hit his head with his spikes? Blood was rushing out of his head. But it didn't even require any stitches. What I've recently noticed is that bonehead players are taking their helmets off on purpose and getting penalties for it! Why in the world do they do that? They know they'll get a penalty for bad sportsmanship. But now that I think of it, we are only in week 4 or 5, right? And I was thinking about the whole season last year when I said I hadn't noticed it any more than usual. So I believe we actually are seeing more helmets come off, you are right.

Hello AmbiePam, I did not have as much time to watch last years games of football but I have more time now and my boyfriend like watchign football. We go out to eat nice restraunt and sit there and eat our dinner and watch the game on TV. I grew up with 5 brothers and they loved the game. I do know alot about the game rules and sometimes I stump my boyfriend on questions which is unusual but he like it and know I am into the game as well. The waitress are pretty nice to us too but we tell them if you get too crowed and nead the seats we are willing to move to another seat etc... yes, I agree I do not know they just take them off. I also saw a recap of player who took off his helmet because he did not like the refree call and through in the stands and almost hit a lady... he never got fined either. I hope I do not see more of that and that should not been tolerated either from the refree. But get the on one team a Offensice assistant coach was pissed at referee and coach gave the refree the finger and he got fined $40,000 go figure on football. Thanks for your reply and have a great day! Sincerely unique16

I noticed that too but thought it was normal because no one else said anything. Maybe it's so their heads don't get jerked around so much. If the helmet slips off from a hard impact then that's less strain on the neck right? Most likely it's due to laziness though. Players just don't care enough to fit the straps right so they can easily take em off or put em on.

Hello TonyPluto, No this is not normal. In most years plast it was once in while kinda rare. Now it like in almost any game I watch... I just do not get it. It usually happens when they are being tackle and I wonder with new rule you cannot really got for the head they are going for the chest but hit that somehow is knocking off the helmet. I am seeing a linesmen going for the chest now with there head to get a tackle and rib cage and the laryanx are very sentative spots on players etc... Thanks for the reply and have a great day!
