Ready-made Garment or Buy clothes and stitch them Which one do you prefer

Be it a male or female, my dear fellow myLotter, while it comes for making a shopping for garments, which one would you prefer. Buying clothes and give them to a tailor for stitching or buying a ready made garment and wear it right away. I feel there is advantage in both as well as disadvantage. Pls. share both the views.

Hi,
I should opt for ready made garment and I have been
doing this all the while.
I never ask people to tailor clothes for me. Maybe I should try
it out one day.
I do wish I can sew my own clothes,but too bad I don't have this skills.
I feel regret for not learning sewing when I was young.
Of course, I am not too old to learn sewing...but I need someone who
is good to guide me on this sewing method.

That's a gr8 idea. Stitching our own dress. that gives us more confidence and a feel of personal touch. Lovely idea. mmmmm.... thanks. i mean it.

I actually do both.I buy ready-to-wear clothes,but I buy them in secondhand and vintage stores.I don't like retail.I don't like running into someone wearing the same clothes as I am.I also buy fabric and have it sewn by a good tailor into a dress I really like.

I mostly buy ready made pieces, because it is just so much easier, but I do make some clothes myself too. I think it is a lot of fun to design stuff for yourself, but I don't always have the time to do it, unfortunately...
