I have a slow internet connection here and that is why I can't comment on a lot of discussions so I'm planning to download an internet accelerator. My question is does it work? Does it really make your connection faster? Because I doubt it would because how does a program make your connection faster. And if it works why does the ISPs not include it in their package so that customers would be satisfied with their service.

I don`t know about internet accelerator, but i know about DAP . It`s a program that will help you download faster . This program will search the net for the same file and will download in the same time with the same speed from 2-3 sources . In that way, you will be able to download faster, but i don`t know anything that will make your connection faster. i don`t know even if there is something like that on the market .

yup, I already know that kind of application (DAP) but just as you, I also haven't heard about the internet accelerator, I just known it recently that is why I'm asking if it works because I can't comprehend how it can make my connection faster.

It really depends on what internet accelerator that you use. Some internet accelerators are fake (spywares) some are genuine. There are free and paid alternatives. So you need to be careful. I have used an internet accelerator before called toonel. This is their site: http://toonel.net/. It works by reducing the quality of pictures/graphics on website so that the browsing process is lighter. The disadvantage is that the quality of pictures that you see is rather low. But there is a setting that you can choose to set the different quality of pictures that you prefer. The program is small but you need to Java installed on your PC for it to run.

I also thought about the spywares disguising as accelerators that is why I didn't download it right away. I'll try your link and test if the program works for me.

There are a number of internet speed accelerators available. When I was using a slow ISP, I did use an accelerator. It was good. Worked quite well. You have to try it out first. If you like it, then you can continue using the service for a longer term.

My ISP had provided a great software with the connection. That is not actually accelerator but it helped me a lot boosting up the page loading. It used to downgrade the quality of the images of web pages and resulted to reduce page loading time. I can say that it almost worked like the "Turbo" feature in Opera browser. Apart from that I tried using some well known accelerators, but they really did not work good for me.

Some internet accelerators work and some do not, the ones that do not are likely to be spyware

internet accelerator didn't speed up your internet bandwidth but it only prioritize the the internet process. it stops some of your programs or clean some of your junk files so that you can access to internet w/o lagging...
