Money cannot solve all Problems?

I only realized money is only a commodity for trading, to support our daily needs for our survival. Many people believe that they can solve all their problems by just having tons of money. We have to reason that out why people are working so hard to enrich themselves and accumulate lots of money when at the end of the day they are still unhappy. I think not many people realize that money itself has its attendant problems. Money cannot solve all problems. Unfortunately our demands can never be satisfied thus the rush to earn as much money as possible. Can we blame ourselves for not thinking properly? Can we not be happy to have just enough money to subsidize our daily meals on our tables and a roof over our heads? The moment we come out to work we are like race-track greyhounds running after a rabbit decoy. When the chase ends, all excitement disappears. This is very much like the nature of sensual happiness in the wonderland of materialism. As soon as the desired object is attained, the happiness ends and new desires arise. Living in this materialistic world we are very much influenced by the thought that money is a guiding force to reach happiness thus relieving us of all earthly problems. What is your view on this?

I think the rich must be envious of the poor as they have longer lifespan. They eat simple food and don't go for fastfoods as they don't believe in luxurious eating. So they don't experience most rich men diseases like high BP, diabetes or stroke. Their simplicity in life doesn't swarm them with life problems.

Hello Zandi, I agree on what youve just posted, that money cannot solve all problems. my point about this, is that money cant buy all the aspects of human life, especially happiness, love, faith, hope and the spiritual dimension in life.people tend to earn much to make spend the material things in this world, and so they are also right but anything else money cant buy family nor friends, HUman beings have this special abililty to communicate and establish rapport with other people not only through the use of money but with the power of communication.=)Like if we are having psychological problems, money cant solve that, unless people will consult to a friend or their family to help them.=)

People believe that once they have lots of money their status in society is elevated. This is quite true seeing the present scenario in today's world, those who are wealthy are being looked up and adored as if they are lord but little do they realize that one day when they die they will be buried next to a pauper. In that light they should remain humble and do some welfare services to society as they are the luckier ones in terms of having lots of money.

It's true, I sometimes feel that way, that i look up to the wealthy ones but then I realized that treasuring our family, the memories spent, our attitude towards others is more important than money, they value more. And we if we want to earn money its better to do it with our best service and effort.

That's true! Money cannot solve all problems but I know that having more money in my life would make me that much happier! In truth I think that it would be better if money ceased to exist! A good idea to replace money would be for everyone to just trade! You have something I need or would like to experience and vice versa! I think that everyone would be so much happier if we all walked down this route! This is probably not very realistic though. I don't have much money in my life but I am content to a certain extent. I have my few little pleasures like regular cycling and swimming and these two activities keep me happy and somewhat fulfilled! I also love my reading and obviously watching the television! I think that you can be poor and still content or happy at times. Andrew:)

I can visualize the contentment in your life with all the activities you indulged. It is not only leading you to a healthier life but makes life interesting too. When I was young I used to adore the materialistic world but has since mellowed down and prefer to live a simple life. It makes me happier to come down to basic living.

why do I find your comments very inspiring Andrew? This is all true, I mean everything you just said is true. I wish we all could live a simple life, sharing and loving and always happy. Money is not worth all our troubles in life, if it's real happiness from the very inside of us no money can buy it. Although money can buy a lot of material things that can make us happy somehow, but money can't buy one true love..

I do agree with you and I do believe that the more we have the more we seem to want and the idea of ‘keeping up with the Joneses’ is a popular one these days! There are some problems that cannot ever be solved by having a lot of things and money to spend; take health for instance, no amount of cash will change a doomed diagnosis or take away stubborn pain. Our society is definitely much more materialistic than it used to be and although it would nice to have no more financial struggles priorities need to be kept in check and be happy with what we have.

Having lots of money will not mean anything to a sick body especially those with terminal illness where money could not help them in getting back their health. Having just enough to sustain our daily life and some entertainment should bring in more happiness.

Hm... there goes a proverb in (Bengali) "Money is the root of all mishaps" on the contrary it has been also said that "Money is not everything, but without money everything is nothing." In fact we do not need tons of money to safe our life and to be happy. We just need to satisfy our demand. But it is really difficult to limit our demand. According to Buddha all sorrows come in our life from WANT, if we can control our WANT then we can become happy even with little amount. One should not run after money overlooking his life, surroundings, family and friends.

Fear is the key to your query. People rush to earn money because they : 1. Fear of losing status, respect. 2. Fear of discomfort 3. Fear of losing relationship 4. Fear of unknown and unexpected happenings And the list goes on. We have option to choose from two lives : 1. Material and realistic Life and 2. Spiritual Life. Most of us have chosen the first option where money is not only Most Important and a must, but it their goal. While those who have chosen the second option, for them money is the means to achieve their ultimate goal or to reach their mission. So far material needs are concerned, money can solve all our needs. But as far as our spiritual or emotional needs are concerned, money can not solve all problems.

Hi Zandi! Very well said and very well explained. Money is important to survive, however, it just cannot solve all the problems. We require other things than money. If a person stays alone and has lots of money and no one is around him, s/he cannot buy the joy of this world through money. S/he needs a human being to talk to, to share his/her joy and sorrows. However, it is also true that those who keep on accumulating wealth feel themselves above ground and forget about those friends/near and dear ones, who helped them in building their career. Money power brings ego in a person, which is very dangerous. S/he forgets that ultimately a human being will come to his/her rescue if he gets ill or in trouble. Money can buy artificial love but not the real love between two persons. Have a great day! Deepak

Yep, I agree with you wholly. Money has its importance in the right place but can never be used to buy affections and the like. Having extras is a bonus but happiness cannot be long lived and meaningful if money leaves sorrow and suffering in its wake.

Yes, I can't agree with you more. Money cannot solve all problems. For example, you cannot buy a true love with money. I think now there is few people who really think that money can buy anything. But, we have to admit that, without money, problems are mountaining. Like we are straggle to have a living, we have no place to live, we cannot afford children's better education, etc. In such cases, money are functional. That's why we try to earn money, and more.

I have no doubts on your views. Money is still important and lack of money will give us a life of miseries...But it doesn't have much impact on matters of the heart or other areas where we can't really replace or use money to feel our real happiness in life.

Proven and tested, yes money can’t make us happy or solve all the problems we may have. It still feels empty though you have everything you need in front of you but then again you feel that you need something.. Something that you can’t buy. Family is one and their undying love. Friends sometimes who give you laughter out of every bit of craziness they do.

Money become valueless if there is no happiness in life. We can't compensate the loss of a loved one with any amount of money.

hi zandi... some claps for you bcoz i also think samme that money is nothing but a media to survive with our utmost needs. u know, i have seen here that a person who is a millionaire but lost his both kidnies and gave add in a news paper. why? if he is too rich and has enough money, then he had nothing to be afraid of his life. but he.... so money is not the solution to all of our problems. take care.

Yeah, as far as I am concerned, I think I do agree with you so much that money can not slove all the problems in our life. Some people may have this kind of thoughts that money can solve all the problems that they meet in their life. If there are so much money in hand, nothing is impossible. But I will say that it is correctly wrong. You can have money. but you may not have the ability to buy health. You may have money, but you may not have the ability to buy emotion. A lot things can be lost if you only love money so much.

Money are only useful on things that we can see and touch but not on intangible things. We should not allow ourselves to be a slave to money.

Today more people want to get more money. They think money is everything. They say money makes the mare go. People wants more money for their dream to live a happy life, living in a mansion, driving expensive cars. In a way of course money is important for all of us. We cannot do anything and we have no money. However money can also bring us happiness and misery.

Yes, I agree with what you said. Money can't solve all the problems in our lives. Such as the love from our family, the true love from our partners, the true friendship and so on. Some people in order to earn more money, and don't care about these things. So even if they get rich in some day. They will be not very happy.

........i Don't believe that money can solve all the problem, money also got it's own limit like us,......as what you say money is just the commodity of trading, support to our daily needs. i agree on it, but because we are human we are not contented on what we have.....so money is not source of solution..

Personally this is so True. Money cannot solve all problems, and even if their was enough money in our lives, and around the World would that mean everyone would be Happy? People who have money are getting divorced all the time. They end up having other family problems, medical problems and many times having issues with others around them because of the money as well. Looking at things from my perspective to have enough always to pay bills and buy food would be nice, but to have too much unless I could always share it would not solve everything for sure.

This is a very good insight. I totally agree with you. Money is often times the root of evil. There are many rich people who are not even happy because the more money they have the more problems they get into. Sometimes people from the bondocs are happier than people in the city. Their lives are simple and they are contented with it. Meanwhile, people in the city are unsatisfied.

It's true that money can't solve all problems. But it certainly solves a lot of problems as long as we are still alive and still need material things like food, clothes, and roof over our heads. Some people accumulate money as much as possible in order to retire comfortably when they get old. Most of us can barely meet our basic needs and live paycheck to paycheck. The most important thing is for us to use money and not being used by money. Making money should not be the main purpose in life. Money is only a means to an object. I know some people who make a lot of money but they are saving them (hoarding) and never using them. They wear torn, worn-out clothes and their house needs serious renovation. I'm not against saving at all but it's no use to make money if you don't use them. You're not gonna take it with you if you die.

I do agree with this, I think a lot of people fail to see that having a lot of money might also lead to having a lot of problems, and let's be honest: nobody wants that! So instead of focusing on having more and more money, people should strive to have enough, and then try to focus on the things that make them happy instead, such as their family etc.

Thats right, money is not the answer to every problems that we have. One of the most neglected aspect in life is our spiritual welfare. Life can change for the better if we can spare time to nourish our souls rather than enslaving ourselves to earn money.

Your solution to your problem depends on what situation you are into. If your problem involves money, then money is the answer (eg. loan, job, education, food, rent, etc.). But if your having problems emotionally then best solution would definitely not money. So it's really true that money can't solve all Problems because not all problems involves money.
