No. To caste reservations!

I just want to know if there are reservations in your country for jobs or anything else based on casue, religion, race etc.. Do you think that it is fare to give reservations to some specific community of people in jobs and other thing. Is this justice to the general people? Don't you think that everyone should be preffered first (like in jobs) by his intelligence or skills rather than the caste, religion etc... Its really a big headache for general people here in india where you have a lot of reserved castes like ST, SC, OBC and many others, beside these they also can apply under general category.. Is this fare? Have your say plz... I wanna know what do you think

In my country (the U.S.) it's not only considered unfair...it is blatently illegal.

I meant that caste reservations would be illegal.....if we had castes that is.

Well, thats what is expected from a country like united states. Caste reservation should be illegal everywhere. Thanks for your response.

i agree its annoying, unfair and kind of archaic in todays world ... its taking away a general category person's bread in a way ... In worst come worst scenario if the govt has to do a reservation just do it on the basis of monetary status of the family which also should be thoroughly checked and authenticated !!

Yea, but here people get reservations only by doing some strikes and stopping trains.

Cate based reservations is a cancer on our democracy.At some point in time it has to be stopped but who will dare?.If at some party would dare to to do so then those castes will protest and they will do whatever it takes to prolong their reservation in various sectors.So our constitution writers had never had thought of this...uh sorry,Our constitution was written by such a person who belongs to the above said caste caste group.Some day the majority will become minority and they will lag behind other minority groups.And their will be a necessity for a second freedom struggle.
