Do you think that now a days students are not really serious about their studies. Now They believe im one night preparation, studies only one day before exam. Students always spend more time in other things rather than studying. What do you think?

I definitely agree. There are so many distractions now-a-days that keeps students from focusing on school works. As more distractions arise, studying seems to get more boring, therefore convincing students to do more fun things than study. Since this century is filled with technology and easily connecting with friends, studying seems too boring now.

Yes you are right, in todays generation technology is a major disattraction to the students such as cell phones, video games and internet. Students are now spending most of their time on these technologies rather than their studies.

I don't think it's a matter of being serious or not. I think what matters is the focus that they give. You see, if you are overly serious, you're not going to enjoy your life. However, if you give enough attention or focus per subject, you won't need to spend the whole day studying. I think there's a lack of focus due to the types of distractions around. From the internet, to television, gadgets and etc. I think if we could help control addiction with these things, then perhaps kids would have more time studying or more focus even in class.

Well, being serious doesn't mean that you have to spend all day to studies. It means that you should also give some particular good amount of time to your studies per day. If you do this you are considered as serious but ie you study all the day then it will just burn your mind out.

I do not believe that students today are as interested in their studies as they should be. There are so many distractions that cause them to loose interest and they are the moment not concentrating harder on such an important are of their lives.

Yes our present generation are behind making money with shortcuts that lead them to trouble. they do that just not to study.. I think we should be educated first and then there will be thousands ways for us to earn money.

not all are not serious about studying, i believe. yeah, it's true that some just goes to school because of dumb and crazy reasons but we can't judge easily and generalize. but some even stops schooling though they have money to continue and pay fees because they are not serious about it. still, we can't generalize.

Yes you are right , here are many people and i see many of them daily who pays their fee, leaves home for college but never come to college. I have quite a few students like them in my class. They come to college only 4 or 5 times in a month and their parents never come to know about this. And thats really sad.

I think some students now have too much going on to really be serious about their studies. At least to them that's how it feels like. They have too many other things that distract them, and they let it. I think it has something to do with their priorities now, and the incentives they get from studying. Some students don't think too much of their studies because maybe they already have jobs and they feel secured enough. Others rely too much on their parents who spoiled them. But I know that there are also other students who want to graduate and get a job so they can help out their parents or family.

Yes you are right, strong background of the students may be the one of the reasons for their carelessness about the studies, as you said there comfort in their living because of their parents spoil them. I think the parents should teach them earlier in their teenage about their goals.

i guess, the students of today know how to manage all. i'm really surprised the way they handle every thing. good that they have the skill and intelligence to do so. the distractions are many, some may falter and some get over them. its good to be able to do everything you want to do. how many times have you felt, that you havent enjoyed your student days and that you were bogged down with books all the time. i think, its time, we appreciate the adeptness of the new generation.

Yes you are absolutely right. The present generation is capable of adapting to things very easily. They enjoy their life whole the year and then in days of exam they just study for just 1 or 2 days and get passed. The present generation is really intelligent but not so serious.

taking serious is not the matter. some students may indulge more time enjoying rather than studying. but more of them manage everything pretty well. the intelligence is what counts in the long run and not seriosness. the serious attitude may help one discipline them. i agree that they are not very disciplined lot, but times change and one must always adapt to change. as they say, change is the only permanent thing. well nice topic by the way..

I don't believe in that students are not serious in their study. I think this is the time of competitions so every student takes their interest in their study. Because they never want to behind from anybody. So always they try to hard working. And also mostly time they get results of it.

Well, you can't say that everybody is serious about his studies. I have seen many people who are not serious at all, they just go to the college for attendance or to just hang around there like a park.

I have never ever studied more than one night for an exam. I think that's a bit excessive to do. Students need balance in their lives and it shouldn't just be work all the time. You'd get too burned out. Relaxing is necessary. I don't think there has been a big shift in students' focus however. I think students are still serious about their studies. They may just spend more time on classes before the exam so a brief overview of material is all they need before the exam.

Well mate i do the same that you do. I also study just one day before examination. You are also right that we need just an overview of all otr syllabus before examination as it is enough to hear all the lectures in the classroom because of that.
