Summer for us in North America is drawing to a close. I went camping for the first time in 5 years. I went on two group camping weekends, camped out for a week at a festival, camped out for a couple days at a festival, and went camping overnight by myself while hiking. It was great and I wish I could have done more. Did you get out and do some camping this year?

Honestly, no. I wish I had done something such as camping, or getting out in the wild. The closest I got to being out in the woods was zip lining, and that was actually quite fun. Years ago I used to do a bit of camping with my family and friends, but the number of times we went decreased as the years went by. I didn't enjoy camping to much growing up, I always seemed to go on bad days when it showered a bit of rain. I also got sick just about every time I went, So I stick to being indoors from now on.

oh wow how lucky you are ! I've always wanted to go ZIP lining. They have a few treks near where I live. I've heard it was really fun. How was it?

I wasn't too scared to do it, knowing it would be safe as long as I didn't swing my arms at the cable I was sliding on. The first one I did was a decent sized one, and the more we did the longer and higher they got. The landings are what really got me, you really have to use your feet to control your landing. Also while going down the line, you sorta have to keep a good balance to keep straight. It is fun to spin around while sliding, but sometimes the landings can get rough, so you have to try and spin yourself back around unless your good with your feet backwards. Overall it's pretty fun after you get the hang of it.

Almost. We went to a beautiful place where it would have been great to camp out but my friend preferred to stay in a motel.

We went to Flaming Gorge in Wyoming, and yes it was a lot of fun. I had been to Yellowstone Park once a long time ago, but it was my first trip to southern Wyoming, and we came back through Las Vegas. I don't gamble, but I do love the buffets.

I am not a camper. It's been over 30 years since I last camped. My husband and I are outdoor people but don't like sleeping on the ground in a tent. So glad to hear you had a good time camping. I know there are plenty of people who love it.

Sleeping on the ground can be very painful if you have a bad back.

My back was ok way back then but now is a different story. My husband pitched the tent and he didn't know there was a rock under the bottom. That wasn't so comfy.

I did plan to go camping with some friends this summer. However it came just before my trip to Canada and I was busy getting ready for that. My friends were going camping at a site in the countryside an hours drive away. The British summer time was a bit cool and rainy. When it turns out hot I make sure I go off camping for a few days. Then later this summer I moved from my house to a bungalow. The summer of 2008 was fairly cool when I went camping at a campsite a rural position close the seaside. From there I did some enjoyable days out to a steam train trip and explored some towns.

Thats r eally too bad about the rain. Where I'm from we get lots of rain too. I'm from Vancouver BC. Sometimes you just have to brave a bit of rain if you want to go for a hike or camping.... as long as its not pouring.

I've gone camping once this year, I went for a week, which it was really fun. We usually camp alot during the spring and summer and fall months but we've only gone once this year. My husband likes to camp when its cold too, so he says we're going to do some camping this winter, I'm up for it, I think, but if its too cold, I'm a big sissy and I'd rather stay home where its warm..lol.

I'm with you! I don't like to camp in the snow. Maybe I'll try it once... but usually I like the heat!

Hi, I never been to camping before...During my high school, I intend to join my friend who are in scout's team for camping trip, but my parents did not allow me to go,they said,it is too dangerous. Okie..not to force them to sign the agreement form.So I have to reject my friend 's offer to join her for camping. I was wondering how is camping trip feel like, staying outdoor for wholenight and sleep in the tent. Will I get used to it?.

You should definately go camping once you've gotten old enough to go without your parents permission. Its very safe and a lot of fun. You just have to learn some basics and then your ready to go. Group camping is super fun too. Just sitting around the fire chatting with friends.

Well, if you enjoy the sounds of the outdoors, you'll most likely enjoy camping. You do alot more than just sit there. You can hike or explore and play games and a whole lot more. I didn't like camping much myself just because I got sick about every time. Maybe just got homesick or something, but not to sure. Really it depends on what kind of person you are. I do like the outdoors and such, but not big on the camping thing. If you do decide to go camping, make sure you find a good tent first, maybe one that can keep out bugs. I'm sure all new bought ones can. Maybe find one with pockets on the inside for small objects, that's good also. A big one helps also for more room to sleep and to store more things. It's better to have your things in your tent to keep from anyone taking your stuff. I kinda hate the morning waking up in a tent, I feel cruddy, cramped, and it's cold and moist because of the dew.

I didn't get to go camping this year. I would have liked to, was even hoping to plan a trip with my god daughter and her god father and a few other people to go camping. My god daughter has never been camping, but has always wanted to go. Hopefully next summer we'll be able to do it. Although I'm tempted to give winter camping a try. I enjoy camping quite a bit, it's very relaxing and can be a lot of fun if you're with people whose company you enjoy.
