It is true that to make life wonderful all we need is simple things. yet people never understand and make life complicated. I think I would prefer small bits and pieces of happiness rather than imagining the universe of happiness to come to me. There is lot of happiness around us every second in a day, yet in search for big surprises we loose them and hence the life becomes complicated.

You are right we are the judges for our own happiness.And,it is really available but we try to find it else where.
