Maybe I am a bit different but after a break up, I may hurt and feel it for a while but I think checking up on the person would be a constant reminder for me that is. I see you are fairly new to myLot so a warm welcome to you.

Just try to be busy on new things also, try to let him out of your mind and enjoy focusing new things that may come in you. Meet new friends and try to miggle with them, don't let lonliness bite you..Don't let him see that you are very much hurt in your break up. Always be a winner..

I have only experience a break up once. I think the state of moving on still depends on how deep the wound is. For me, the deeper emotional investment you have with someone, the longer will it take for you to move on. How to cope up? Though it has caused pain, acceptance that he was not the right person for you and believing that you deserve someone better would somehow heal the pain. Don’t continue to check with what is going on with his life as this may hurt you more. Focus on the things that will make you feel better and give more time to yourself. If you’re really having a hard time copping up, I guess you should lift up everything to God. He is our divine comforter; certainly if you cannot cope by yourself you can cope up in partnership with God.

I suggest you delete any source that would connect the two of you. Delete his number or delete his name from your friends' list.

of course it is depressing to face a break up but to ease our emotional trauma, it is best to delete everything you have with this person. I mean throw or bury photos that you have with that person and delete his profile in your Facebook. It is tempting to look at the person in Facebook or Twitter to check what he is doing but it can turn into an obsession. So best to delete them all.
