Help! My family and I went apple picking at one of the local farms, as we do every year. This year, we got a little carried away and came home with 44 pounds of apples. I have made tons of apple sauce, apple pie, apple crisp, pork with apples, chicken salad with apples, garden salad with apples and walnuts (Like a Waldorf salad), baked apples--and I have still have a refrigerator full of apples! Do you go apple picking in the fall? And, if you do, what do you do with your apples?

since uve already put everything i know about things you can do to apples. well i dont wanna waste them by throwing em away. i would eat it, eat as much as possible cause i love apples =), if i cant finish em all, share em, and if they go bad already, make compost out of them or sumthing =)

I like the compost idea--I have been doing a lot of gardening this year and have really come to appreciate the benefits of making your own compost.

Here we can also use the apples to make the soup. Just add the apples, pork and figs to the water. Then boil them for about one hour. The soup will be so fresh and taste well. Perhaps you can also try this method to run out your stored apples:) By the way, why not give some apples to others like your family members and friends?
I love China

I will try it--sounds great for a cool autumn day. As for the other suggestion,I would LOVE to give some away, but around here, everyone goes apple picking so they have enough of their own--nobody wants mine!

maybe we could get 1 ton of apples every year. of course ,it is my first choice that sell most of them to buyer as soon as we could, this is our second chioce that we have the rest of apples which we intend to pick for ourselves.
maybe this is a good piece of advice to slice the apple and to dry them under the sun.

I will try the dried apples idea--my kids like them when we buy them at the store, so maybe they will go for homemade ones, too.

I was going to suggest you to make stuff with apples but I already noticed that you already have.. how about making apple juice like smoothies with apples? My family does not go apple picking in the fall.. so I never experienced this before.

Great suggestion--I tried the smoothie idea and everyone LOVED them. I used honey and cinnamon and some vanilla yogurt and the kids said they tasted like apple pie. Thanks!
