Do we earn more when we rate the responses?

The more you rate, the more you get rated. Your star (reputation) goes up. The more quality discussions you make, you earn more. Rating has no connection with the earnings. I read this somewhere here on mylot, a while back.

Well, i don't know if rating the responses to our discussions affect our earning or not. I would also like to know this. But i think it doesn't affect our earnings as it is not includes in participation or any othere thing. It just affect the ranking of the mylotters.

I wish I can understand this more through this discussions but i think people here have two answers. can anybody explain it clearly?

well.........until i know it won't effect our earning. mylot haven't specified any related to earning and rating. rating system is only for reputation of a member of the mylot. your earning depends on the post quality if i am not wrong. i have been using mylot for an year and i haven't seen any effect in my earning if i rate or not.

Rating responses won't affect your earnings, but they way people rate you can. If you have a higher start rating you earn more. If people give you bad ratings, you'll have a low star rating and will earn less.

after all said I still don't understand how the my star affects my earnings. Can you please provide an example? I am asking anyone that understands it.
