How to make banners from Images?

Hi,
I have to make linkable banners for a website.I have the image that I should use for the purpose.How can use these images to linkable banners i.e. by clicking on the image,one can visit the subject website.Please suggest.
PS: Donot suggest Google it.Please share how you do it and which is the better way to do it.

Open imageshack.com.
upload your image.
a link will display saying for forum if you want to link it to forum,take this.
likewise copy the link you wanted.can't do it?
then take the link only usually first one.
open the website.
put it into your image url section.
put your websit link into link section.
done.
