What gets in the way of your happiness?

Our professional goals do not mean much if they get in the way of our general happiness. It is easy to get carried away on the current of our ambitions and let our goals overshadow other aspects of our lives. While being confident in our professional lives is incredibly important for success, it is also equally essential to ultimately remember that it is not our futures that matter but how we live our lives in the present moment that counts.

what gets in the way of my happiness is the fact that im not only disabled and cant get out and walk around a lot but ive also stuck myself into a position where i have only one friend i see about once every 2 to 3 months and thats it. lonliness is in my way and also the disability to do something about it

i dont know how bad is your disability, but loneliness is something in your mind. If you believe and assure yourself that you are lonely and useless and what so ever, you will live a miserable life. I don't know how is your society out there, but for the disabled people over at my place, has been using their lives while they still are living with great abundance. I am not here to criticize, but to let you know that no one will make you happy unless you make yourself happy and contented, because there is nothing you can do about your condition and your feelings unless you change it yourself.

I'm a single mom for 18 years, I lost dear ones, my husband, my mom and dad and a sister, sometimes loneliness struck me, thinking of the happy moments with them. My children, however plus the coming of my two grandchildren, gets in the way of my happiness. There are times that we're financially hard up but eventually gets over it, that gets the way of our happiness.

The challenges of bringing up the children and giving them the education needed in order for them to find jobs, gets in the way for my happiness, as well.

I can sum the answer up in two words, anger and shame. They for me are the two main obstacles that get in the way of my happiness, until I can deal with those, then happiness is out of my reach. I am not a confident person and I have little or no self esteem, I have anger issues. For me it's the past that has the major impact until I can find closure and accept myself for who I am then I will never find happiness. I don't believe I deserve happiness. And if anything positive happens, I am on edge all the time for the negative or sadness to kick in and return.

Hi wolfie, My friend,I feel for you with all my heart, and I really think that you deserve to be happy. I do not know about your past and it isn't necessary, it is in the past and will remain there. I'm sure that you've heard it all many times - correct what you can, forgive yourself and everyone else involved and create a better future. I know too that it's easy for me to say because I'm not living your experience. As I mentioned before, I once had anger issues and low self esteem and it made life very difficult. I found a respected medical professional who had had much success in hypnosis and he cured me. I don't know if it would work for you but it probably would over time. Thank you for responding and I send you love and light. Blessings.

There is a saying in India that "Make others happy to be happy" Just cultivate a feeling and a nature of making others happy by your actions and see the results. Happiness will definitely come to you.

Sometimes I do feel it that having insufficient money to buy thing that I want may cause some unhappy moments that will disrupt my feeling. Well is because, this is human nature, where humans are never satisfied with only the basic. I make it a point that I will save and work hard for it, even it will take me several months. I know is pathetic, but at least I work hard for the thing rather than slotting my credit card just to have it. Hahaha ..

There is no success or money in this world that can buy happiness.

I guess fear gets in my way more than anything else. I try to remember that I. ego, have no control over what is going on and that there is always help along the way if I just ask for it.
