Pentagon Oversight Or Another Conspiracy With The Enemy?

I am sorry but I just cannot fathom this news on the New York Times about the bizarre discovery that the security forces hired to to guard American military bases in Afghanistan actually have ties to the Taliban, criminal networks and Iranian intelligence. I really have all respect to the US army and I am really shocked to the core on how casual the administrations had been where lives are involved. They should have discovered this much earlier when so many missions had been compromised with IEDs as they just seem to be so coincidentally precise on the patrol routes. This is really horrendous and bizarre which I cannot help feel that there might be some higher conspiracy somewhere. What do you think?
