How rich is rich?

Hello, I've been always dreaming of one day becoming rich and how it would feel like but at the same time I've been questioning myself, how would I know if I've already achieved this. Am I rich if I can buy anything anything I want. But people are always not satisfied with what we have therefore there would always be things that I would not afford. Am I rich if I don't need to work and I can sustain my way of living. But what if i can sustain my way of living even if i don't work but I don't have millions in my bank account because I only live a simple life. Am I rich if I can attend parties for the rich and elite and mingle with them? Is it about the numbers in your bank account? If you have a million dollars then would that make me rich? How bout if $2 million? how bout $1 billion? I guess this question is debatable and it is on a case to case basis. but despite this I still want to be rich and if I really become one, I won't follow people who have committed the mistake of thinking that when we have the money, we splurge on everything because, that it would just come and never stop increasing, I read one article about an athlete who earned $100 million but now is broke and looking for a team even if the pay is not that high.

Financially rich to me would be not having to work again and be able to afford whatever I wanted. Who knows though how much that would cost...

I agree with you, having to work and living payday to payday really is tiring so if we would not work then I guess that would make us rich, but if it is based on numbers, we could not really define how rich we really want to be.

Measuring richness is a very relative concept. Now suppose there are 500 families in a town and if there average monthly bank balance is $1000 to $1200 then those people who have bank balances above average i.e above $1200 are said to be relatively richer and those people whose monthly income stands below average are relatively poorer. Now assume the neighbor town which also has 500 families but the monthly bank balance is $2000 to $2200 then the town people of this village could be said as richer than other. Similarly, different states or nations are compared to see who is richer and who is poorer. But in this case, per capita income is calculated, i.e. average earnings per person of the nation is calculated. Now you cannot calculate the richness by the standard of living or the way of living. Because it all depends upon your likes and dislikes. A rich person may like cheap junk food (which is meant to be tasty), however the other person who is less richer than the other may prefer health food made up of salads and other food that is not junk. And the third part differs along with individuals. If one earns $100000 he may feel he is rich but the other who is earning more than this may not feel the same. Being rich or not is a relative concept and cannot be judged with single person.

You can be rich in alot of ways, but who wants to have alot of money, but no love in the life? I think, even if you are rich in dollars, you have to get a good life also, and a good life, is not something that money can fix. In my world, You cannot be fully rich, if those two isn't in harmony, money and happiness. If you can afford to do what you want, when you want and not have to work, you're rich on money. If you have a loving family, who loves you, friends to hang out with, your rich on happiness. And I have to say, I wouldn't like to be rich, if it ment that I would be without any happiness. Just my 5 cents :) Happy myLotting ;)
