Many of Top10 antivirus softwares have possibility to scan you system from web using online scanners. it could seem strange why to scan your pc with online scanners while you have already nice antivirus instaled on your system, but still i had used some of these. The most popular for me so far was kaspersky online scan, but it only shows infections on you pc and do not remove any of them. if you want to remove them and heal your PC you will need to download kaspersky antivirus software. At work we sometimes tried Panda online scan and ESET online scanner. from those two i like ESET product a lot better since its smarter i think.
have you ever tried to scan your PC for viruses with online antivirus scanners?

Hello!
I have used Panda online scan in the past, when I got a virus so nasty that it wouldn't let me run my PC's antivirus (it would start, but would just freeze and crash after a while), and therefore I had to resort to online scanning instead. I used Panda and it worked quite well. Nowadays I don't really used any online scanners, though, my regular antivirus works well enough :)

if it is not a big secret, which is your regular antivirus now? I use Spyware terminator + Clamvin Antivirus and until today my Pc is clean of any sort of viruses and other infections.

oh, nice to know. i used spybot by myown a ling time, but i dislike that they doesnt improove scanning options and design, but it still is one of the best spyware removal tools.
as of norton antivirus maybe i am wrong, but i think that it slows down PC a lot and thus i am using it. last time i had Norton antivirus solutions on my PC was maybe year 2004 :D

No - never used online scanners, since I'm well covered (like millions of others I guess) with the freeware scanners. They are all pretty effective, including Microsoft's MSE.

Microsoft MSE is great, but it is only for those who have passed genuine validation. I am ok with that , but for some of users in my country that could be huge problem, since here most of licesed programs are at work, but at home everyone use what he wants and can.
