Not only I would not want to have that power but I hope noone else does. We have enough problems in this world with people and countries that feel they are the sole owners of the truth.
Let us hope that we are able to respect each other instead of wishing to have slaves.

Sorry forthe tags. Not meant for this post but for another, human and respectful, about the trapped miners in Chile. One of mylotters was asking others to pray for them. It´s a lot better than to want people to obey you.

You are right, it is better to pray than having this special ability to control others or read their mind. I wouldn't want either for everybody to obey me, I only want to be respected by others. Because I like to think that I respect others and I want them to respect me in return. However it would be interesting to read others minds, the thoughts that have something to do with you. You would know how everybody thinks about you and that way you would be able to protect yourself better.

When I was very little I had a very primitive idea of what God was. Grownups had told me he was everywhere and I imagined someone seeing me all the time. I was truly very ashamed of this God that was looking at me while I was at the toilet.
You are wantig to be like the God of my infancy. Have you thought for a moment that if you are able to read other people´s minds you are interfering with their freedom?
The best way to protect us is to respoect others. Not only dogs are aware of harmful people, we are too. If you are defensive, people will not want to get near you.

I would not want to be controlled by anyone so I will respect other people's freedom to do what they want as well. Having this kind of power is really dangerous to have because it might fall to the wrong person. Let us just respect each person's right to do what they want to do according to the norms of the society and the law. You will also gain respect from others as well.

You are very right, respect is one of the most important things in life, this is what I want the most in this life, after health and wealth. Because respect which you have to earn, you will not get it for free. And I wouldn't want to control others neither, because that wouldn't be right to others and maybe I would do myself more bad than good.

No, seriously, no. I don't want that kind of ability. It might be fun to be able to control others but what can we really gain from that? To able to read others' mind is also a problem. I don't really want to know what they think. Some is best left unknown. You'll be happier.

Myabe you are right, but I would want to know what other truly think about me, for me to know how to act regarding others. But I would want to control others, that won't do me good many times.

You are right, if everybody would obey you, they would turn to servants and their elementary human rights wouldn't be respected.

Being able to read other people and control them would be fun only in the beginning. Then you would find it boring since it would not be a challenge for you any more.
But if I could control other people I would tell them to stop fighting each other and live peacefully.
