egoist, your opinions?

I really need to know how someone can become narcissistic. I've met annoying self absorbed people and I really need to know how they become that way. My mind cannot comprehend how they become that way...I mean honestly how does a person become that way? haha I can't believe I typed all that.So have you ever met someone so self absorbed that you can't stand? and someone please tell me how they become that way

No I have not met one but I can give a guess why they become that way. Most probably when they are young, they receive a tad too many compliments.
From my teacher sisters point of view, she has observed a so called genius in her class, one of the eight year olds, who thinks very highly of himself and has thought himself too good to mingle with other children. As a result he spends his rest time alone by himself. So sad huh?

In my opinion, this kind of people are insecure and they're exactly doing the opposite to convince themselves that they are indeed handsome, beautiful, smart and the best person ever. I'm not a psychologist but I have some sort of ability to tell the person behind the mask.
You're right when you said that they're annoying, but the truth is they're pitiful.
