Jean Shepherd was on the radio at night in New York on WOR in the '50's and '60's. Later,he had a PBS show calld Jean Shepherd's America and was on New Jersey Public Broadcasting with Shepherd's Pie. He also publishesome of his radio stories in Playboy and had some of the made into shows on PBS. He is most famous (or infamous for writing and narating the movie "A Christmas Story" which is now shown round the clock Christmas day on TBS. I grew up listening to Shep on the radio and had a chance to see him once. Do you remember him and have any memories you want to share

Well, you'd no doubt seen A Christmas Story so you've heard Shep's voice as the narrator. He was also in the movie as the father in the line waiting for Santa Claus who tells Ralphie where the end of the line is. I wish I could hear him say one of his signature sayings ("Excelsior, you fatheads") just one more time.
