My wife currently have the Motorola (A1200) smartphone and she really like it. but I want to know what the differences and benefits are of the difference operating systems... and whether Linux is more user-friendly than others.

first of all having a linux mobile os means open source so if you want to make soem hanges you can without problems or modify some configuration that seemed uncomfortable for your use!!Another advantage is that you should not spend money for mobile applications and you can find many which they are free and useful!!Linux os is really stable and flexible so even from the speed on a mobile device is good!!I prefer me too linux based os as regards mobile phones..in reality i don't lik some false brothers as android but mobile os as maemo for example are good and useul..

Other than having a stable operating system there really isn't much of an advantage over other smartphones. If anything you'll find yourself spending more time looking for software applications for it [if any] - quite a bit of time.

Linux is awesome! I used to work in Linux and did some programming. The apps on top are wonderful and so much more versitile the microsoft based apps. thats because the code allows for more experimentation.. thus, more creative apps :) I don't know much about it's application on a phone, but from 10 years of working with linux and linux based apps, I am sure it is wonderful! The Linux code itsself is not user friendly.. but the apps are. If i had the money, i would definately go with a linux based phone
