What Do You Look When Eating Outside

Eating outside is a trend nowadays. People have their own taste and way to look for food. Some like street food, some like a luxurious food, some just don't care as long as it is tasty and some like it cheap. I not so fussy about where I want to eat. I eat at night market also known as Pasar Malam in Malaysia. I eat at hawker stall, coffee shop (they didn't just sell coffee but also food. it just what we call them in Malaysia), restaurant or fast food outlet. I like variety in my food. How I select the place I'm going to have my meal? Usually it is the taste then the price. But the first thing I look at hygiene. So it mean I look for a clean place where the food is tasty and at the affordable price. So what do you look when you're opting to eat outside?

Yes, most of us will look for taste (first) affordable price (second) and hygiene (third). I don't mind whether it is in a market, mall, or fancy outlets. As long as I can afford it.

Well, a little un-hygiene-ness now and then is good for the body to develop its own anti-virus or bacteria or whatever you call it.

jennyze, I agree with you. the taste always become first. But sometime we put toleration on the taste for cheap food when we have less money to spend. But it always taste. And I also suprise why we didn't bother to much on the hygiene. flora, restaurant is great when we can afford. I also had like to go to my favorite restaurant when I can afford it or during special occasion.

I'm also particular on the place when I eat outside. I don't like to eat on a place which has dirty surroundings. As much as possible I don't like to use utensils which are not throw away. What if the previous person who ate before you have some kind of virus or sickness and those utensils were not washed properly then you would be an easy victim. That would be bad for your health.

I don't think I come to the extend that I won't use the utensil that was use by others before. But it is good to be more particular on the hygiene of the place we eat.

Hygiene of the place is my foremost concern. With street hawker standards, I dont ask for sparkling clean image, as long as tables are wiped clean and I don't see any roaches or rats running around, I'm fine with it. No matter how good the food is, I won't want to risk an upset stomach. Some times, quality of food does not reflect on a stall's cleanliness. We have to try to know, be adventurous and not too fussy.

Yeah. We have to be reasonable regarding the hygiene. We cannot expect hawker stall to be as clean as a restaurant. But we sure expect the restaurant to be very clean. Adventurous is good but fussy also have it own benefit sometimes.

Just like you, I am very particular with the place I'm going to eat. Eventough the foods are good, I don't have the appetite to eat. Though sometimes due to friends invitation I cannot say no, but I just eat very small portion. But nowadays, we can't be really sure if the preparation is really hygenic. The place may seem to be clean but we are not really sure about what's happening inside the kitchen where the foods we order are being prepared. Now that I have a family of my own, we have decided to eat at home as much as possible, not just because for hygiene purposes, but also we are now particular on the nutrition my family is getting out of the food we eat. We also eat outside, but very seldom. I started training my kids to be consious about the food they are to take, what to eat and not. Not that I am very strict to them but I am more concern about their health. At a very young age I am hoping that the proper food nutrition will be instilled in their mind and that later on they will carry as they grow old. Because I believed health is wealth.

Personally I didn't care much about hygiene last time. I can even eat at the hawker stall near a pork shop, fish market and wet market ,as long as not near dumbster, and enjoy my food ignoring the smell. But now I am more concious about my hygiene. Now I don't even eat at the place when I see the operator untidy and dirty. With a lot of food poisoning case now I better be careful.

Yeah. Eating outside does make bonding much better. Have a relax time talking while waiting for our food and catch up a bit of our relative.

oftentimes when I and my family are to eat out, we choose a restaurant or diner that we haven't gone to yet as long as it's not so expensive and the food is tasty according to sources. then if we eat out for a certain kind of food like pizza we go to our favotite pizza parlor. sometimes eating out via the street food carts is fun as long as it's not for lunch or dinner but for snacks or just midnight eating binge LOL. Eating out is done mostly during Sunday lunch when everybody's tired of cooking after church services and opt for dining out then going strolling then doing nothing after.

I also usually eating outside during Sunday. Sunday just a day for relax and we sometimes feel very lazt to cook. But going to restaurant and diners which haven't being gone yet is quite risky unless we are not so fussy about the taste.

Hi, When come to dining outside, I am very concern about the food hygiene because I don't want to get myself atomach ache after eating those food. Frankly speaking, I seldom dine out and most of the time, I will cook for my family. Maybe I should say, after having a kid, I am very concern about the food intake and I want my son to have a healthy meal everyday and that is why we eat less outside. For me and my husband, we still can take hawker food or food along the street, but for my son, I don't prefer him to try all those food because he is still young and worry the food may not be that clean for him to eat. and in order to avoid those hazzle for me, I don't let him eat.

I agree with you. We have to put our concern for our kids first. Me and my wife also like that. If it only us it is easy. We just eat anything. But for my son, I have to get the best choice for him. A hygiene place with a healthy choice of meal.
