Do you feel that sometimes you are NOT acting or behaving your age.

Due to some circumstances in life, you may feel that you are really older than you really are. Reason being that you have to take on the family responsibility of looking after the family finances as your parents are not around when you should be at school or university yourself. Or that you feel really quite young when you are very much older as you are working with children or teenagers who energise you with their vitality and innocence.Even though your body may be aching, there is always the cheer of having them around and makes life so much more bearable. Do you having such similar life experiences? Do share your thoughts and experiences if you know of any.

LOL! I can really relate to this one. I think at the age of 32 I'm not acting my age at all. I'm not saying i'm immature but I'm very childlike and playful. Even the way i dress is not just my age at all. I dress like a university student coz i feel comfortable in those clothes. Most of the people cannot tell my real age because of the way i act and dress. Before I thought that this is something i should be ashamed of, but then i realized that most people would spend on surgeries and all just to look young and feel young, so why should i change.

ha! 32 years is not all that old. Dressing young is one thing but if one is kinda small size, one can easily get away with being a student. I remember I was thought to be a student when I was travelling in Europe when I was well into my 30s. But most importantly, it is how one feels when one gets older.

Yeah.. Sometimes I'm acting like little child when in fact I'm old already. Not just only me, but also my friends. Usually when we have hangouts together, we usually tease each other like little children. At our age usually ranges 20-22 years old, we are not acting like it. Specially when we are together. We are all nurses now, but still a little bit of childish minded. Its all because we enjoy being like one. But in times the situation needs to be serious then we blend in to it. Its nice to be a child often times.

hi ericytac, yup i think we can enjoy one another when we are all of the same cohort. In time to come, perhaps each of you can grow older together and celebrate your weddings and anniversaries and have your children play together too. Most importantly it is good to know that there are people (amongst friends) you can enjoy some fun like the good ole days together before hitting reality again. I think we need it to retain some sanity, haha.

Yeah.. Being insane for some times is good. It makes your age freeze for a while, making you young. Its a blessing having friends like them. You have someone you can turn on to whenever you have a problem, and have a company to whenever you celebrate. I hope we will grow old together as more closer each year to come.

Yes,all the time i feel younger than my age. My kids are young teeners and i am their friend too. So,i act like them, sing with their tunes and dance to their music. I always wanted to feel young,i don't want to feel that i am old and a mother of 3 growing kids. It is always good to feel young and it gives me more energy and youthful looks too

hi jaiho, aha i see that you have found your elixir of youth now. Or at least for now. I guess you will really feel your age when your kids are much older and have their own stuff to do. Perhaps it would be good to engage in some activities you can call your own too.

That's me. In fact, to be accurate, I'm not living, acting, behaving and being treated my age XD I'm 24 and most people my age are already employed, some of them are even already married. In my case I just had my first relationship last year, and I just graduated from college early this year so I'm still unemployed. I'm still living with my parents and they treat me like I'm a teenager. I'm not allowed to go out without asking permission and I'm not allowed to stay out late -_- It doesn't help that I can be immature sometimes so I'm definitely not living, acting, behaving or being treated my age -_-

I think 24 years is still quite young but again I guess you have the privilege of having a more cushioned life than some other 24 year olds. Enjoy your youth, haha, coz you are only young once.

Yes, I always feel that I'm not acting or behaving my age. I cherish youth so much that every day, I do something that I used to do when I was younger, or something that I think the young people do. And, I love being with kids, too. I relate better to my younger cousins than my age-bracket cousins!

it is good to feel young but at some point in time, one has to surrender the things of youth and embrace being older gracefully and graciously. I personally feel and have to acknowledge that I can't climb that mountain anymore but have taken to doing alternative sports instead.

For me It's my choice that I don't act my age.

hi sayuki and mychickencurry - i think there is a time for everything. But do remember when it is time to act your own age, then one can be taken more seriously then in one's decisions.

Yah, it's a matter of choice. There are situations that you might feel that you are not acting to your age and theres nothing wrong about it, as long as you enjoy to what you are doing and as long as you don't hurt someone, let it be you. :)

It happens, sometimes everybody gets a little childish or acts as if they're much older. I tend to act like a kid around my children and I'm more adult around other people, it's funny how we change in different situations. I always try to at least act my age, although these days people have a different expectation of a 23 year old and I wouldn't say I act like most.

I have heard many tell me i act and look young for my age. Whenever somebody tells me im acting young for my age i will ask them "Is there a age limit for this activity?"

i think it is normal to behave in a manner that sometimes does not fit your age. it actually depends on who you are having communication with.

There have been a lot of times in my life that I feel that i don't act or behave my age. I do what is pleasing to me. You are only as old as you feel. if it bothers someone else that I do things that others my age aren't doing, they are the ones who have to deal with it.

yes thats why people often mistake me as a teenager eventhough im already 24. When I ask them to guess my age they would say I'm only 19 i guess its because of my childish behavior and i also dress like a teenager. Ive always been a mamas girl so its so hard for me to get weaned. when i experienced working i matured a bit but when i stopped working, i started acting like a child again. I hate too much responsibility and im just being happy-go-lucky.

i guess it is really nice to be young with not much care in the world. But somehow it will be abit of a steep learning curve when we have to grow up suddenly to shoulder on responsibilities and the like. We have to be prepared emotionally.
14 Oct 10
I used to act very maturely when I was younger, because I had a lot of responsibilities then. I was too serious, and had a lot of things of think about that a teenager usually doesn't think about. Now, though, I act like a kid sometimes. I watch cartoons, play in the rain, and sometimes I'm even hard-pressed to clean my room. I am definitely hot acting my age now, and I'm very glad.

Yeah sometimes i feel that way.I am 28 years old but i still love to play with video games.Even when i so big i am not serious about life.I just want to live life the easy way.Now i have started taking my responsibilities very seriously.Even when i go out instead of talking to elders i love to play with all the small kids who are there around me.I still have to find a good job and then get married to get settled in life.

I may be fooling myself but I think I look younger than I am and that makes me want to continue to do the things I've always done instead of acting my age. It bothers me when people think they have to be a certain way just because they're a certain age.

I am 49 years old and a lot of people tell me I don’t look that old which is fortunate because I sure don’t act it! I am not a wild person or anything but I don’t really feel any older than I did twenty years ago so I tend to ‘forget’ my age and act much younger than I am. I don’t dress like a sixteen year old or anything like that because I draw the line at looking ridiculous but I feel that I can meet my responsibilities at this stage of my life without feeling like an old person. I think what helps me is that I had my daughter later in life; she keeps me young, that’s for sure!

My age is old, but my nature might still like a child. The nature of mine since childhood, can not be lost until now. Maybe for some people this is a fairness, but to me, this is a weakness.
