URL stands for Universal Resource Locator; it's the website location such as http://www.mylot.com. IP Address is the numeric address for identifying your real location, usually put automatically by the server. There will only one IP Address for each network card. In local area connection (LAN) sometimes IP Address put in manually. Every URL has it's IP Address. It's very difficult for people to remember all the real website's IP because of it's complex number. So comes the URL, which could make remembering websites address simpler. For example IP Address 69.20.112.85 translated into URL Address like http://www.mylot.com. I hope it's clear enough to know the difference. :)

hi maishaybrown as we all know that url means universal Resource location the main difference is the ip address will mention about the particular system where as url will tell about a server location. yours system will have an ip address which will be used to connect to different systems on net. where as the URL is used to easy navigation of site that url is the domain name which is also a url but we use the name like any www.lksiks.com or wwww.dslkksdf.in etc so where as the ip of a particular system will be like 127.0.0.1 etc;
