I've had problems with sleeping as early as 10 years old. I would stay awake all night to my Mom's annoyance because she thought I was doing it on purpose. It continued on and off until my early twenties and it was mainly because of anxiety attacks. My sleeplessness came from something psychological. I resisted sleeping pills until that one time when I stayed up for like 72 hours, a personal record. Normally, when insomnia strikes, I just make friends with it instead of fighting it. I try to do something I enjoy, like read or watch a movie on DVD. I get out of bed, so I won't toss and turn, and do something else until I feel sleepy. Thankfully, I think it has left me already. lol. My fiance tells me I fall asleep within 4 minutes of hitting the sack. I'm crossing my fingers that it won't come visiting anytime soon.

Consult a doctor for insomnia? Not before you tried some easy things you can do to try beat it. Have you tried drinking a warm mug of milk just before you go to sleep? Do you switch off the television and computer at least one hour before you go count ZZZZzzzzzZZZ's? Self-hypnosis? Meditation?
