What is the best gift you would give to a friend on his Birthday? The gift should be unique and innovative. Please help me out. I am bit confused.

When buying gifts, I tend to pay attention to a friends interests and needs / wants at the time.

That's right. But I can't ask him directly what he needs as a gift. I need to surprise him with that gift. As he completing his quarter century, so I thought to give him the best gift ever(within my budget).

It depends on what is his favor or hobby. For instance, he loves football, then I will give him a ball or a custom of Manchester United. If he loves eating, I will treat him in a restaurant that we never visit before. If he loves book, no doubt I will give him the new book from his favorite author. Don't let yourself experience what I experienced before. I got a girl friend birthday, and I don't know that she actually hates mouse very much. You know what I give to her? Correct! I give her Mickey Mouse doll. I remember she was almost totally pale.

lol.. Actually Mickey Mouse doll is a cool thing to give as a gift to a girl friend. But unfortunately you end up on a wrong side. Gifting a book will be boring thing to do. Restaurant thing is also NO. Because he is going to treat us anyhow oh his birthday. But as you suggested, I can gift him a Basketball - I will keep this in my list.

I would have to say depends on age and practicality. See many of us try to go out and find the perfect gift, which in many cases can spark up a moment of enjoyment. I think the older the person gets the more practical one has to be. Meaning something you find they can use, appreciate and need. If it is a younger person something related to their school work to keep them organized. An older friend something to wear per say, like pj's, robe and or slippers. See I am referring to practicality. Perhaps as a male gifting to another male is a bit more difficult, so I would can also suggest a hooded sweater with perhaps their favorite group on it would be good too. Good luck.

There is no such thing as an universal gift idea. The perfect gift depends on the person who is going to receive it. You know your friend better and you should know what are his interests and what would he like to receive on his birthday. When I was your age (oh, don't worry, this is not too far, back in time ) I liked to give funny presents. Not necessarily useful presents, on contrary. But I don't know if your 25 years old friend would appreciate such a gift. You know him better. Try to give us some hints. What are his interests? Does he have any hobby?
