I was in the local grocery store one day just doing my regular grocery shopping and you know how some people smile and say excuse me? Well okay I was just minding my own business and out of nowhere this man I have never seen before in my life kept giving me dirty looks as if I had did something wrong I have never done anything illegal and I have done done any bad things in my life and I sure have never seen that man before but it was a look like I seriouslly did something wrong? And then again he happened to be at the register when I was checking out and he gave me that mean look again. What in the world do you think that was all about and has that ever happened to you?

Well I would of turned around and given the person a smile and went on with my own business, everytime they were around. I am one of those people in the stores that will smile and help if you need to get something from a shelf you can't reach. I feel giving a smile will help others, even if they don't smile back, they were still given some light for the day.. :)

Crazy people give mean look to people - It happens, best to ignore them.
Yes it does happen to me also quite often, but after years of ignoring these people it become habit to ignore these people entirely, just keep them on the corner of my eyes just incase they are lunatics and such.Sometime people with sick minds or plain mistaken identity cause this things to happen. So far by ignoring them, they will go away or atleast i will go away. There is no law that said people cannot stare and each other. So better to walk away and let them spoilt my day.

You are absolutely right and it was scary what if it was a mistaken identity and he was a creepy man? I just walked away and watched behind my back on the way out of the store.

You know unless you approached the person and asked him what his problem is (which I would not advise) you may never know what was going through this guys’ mind. He may be a nut case or you may look like someone he hates or…Who knows…I’ve had things like that happen; a woman yelled at me because I bumped into her once, I said sorry straight away and she started to yell immediately too. It ruined my day, it really did. Incidents like that used to get me down but now I focus on the fact that it is not my problem.

I am sorry that that lady ruined your day but you are right you can't let people ruin your day just because that are having a bad day theirself. I just walked away from that creepy man because you never know what is on someone's mind this world is filled with so many different types of people some good and some bad!!

I don't know why he was mean muggin' you like that! But maybe he thought you were someone else that he did know or something! Maybe he didn't like your T shirt, or just the fact that you were in the store! I have no idea, but it's not worth worrying about since you don't know him and he obviously has a problem. Maybe he wasn't really looking at you he was just upset with life or something and you happened to be standing there!

hello! sometimes people can mistook us for someone else, so maybe that man mistook you for someone else whom he dislike, that's why the mean looks. On the other hand, maybe he is simply grouchy and he always look at other people that way, so no offense meant to you. I have had similar experience and i really approach the person giving me mean looks and ask him "do i know you? why are you looking at me like that?". He stared at me bewildered and confused. It turned out that he is near sighted and he can't see so much beyond one meter and he had left his eyeglasses and was squinting to see clearly. I was so embarrassed but thankfully, he was so gracious and apologetic about it.

Well buddy, my guess would be that he might have felt that you are a happy person and so is everybody else, and he is just a grouch who can't do anything about it. Just kidding (in a way) but you might agree that looks on people it's just superficial, even thou scientific studies say that a look, a smile, a gesture, body language itself can say so much about somebody, so that might be what he was feeling or how he is ... just an ordinary grouch.

Hi there, If you have never seen this man ever then my guess would be that he had some sort of mental illness. I actually have come across this and they don't mean to be like that and I'm pretty sure that they aren't even really angry.

Hi there! Yes that has happened to me before but the difference is that the person giving me that kind of look was a woman. I was shopping at a local department store and then this woman who was checking out the same dress and me and my sister were was looking at us very strangely. Her eyebrows were always up and it was like she was whispering to her friend or daughter about me and my sister. I asked my sister if she knew the woman and she said she did not. After purchasing the item, my sister and I left the department store. That was really an uncomfortable situation.

perhaps he was looking at everyone that way? Or he might have been in a bad mood? Anyway, that's creepy. If I were in your position, I would have left that store quickly...

My wife and I are Canadian but we holiday, along with Thousands of other 'Wintertexans,'in Alamo, Texas, each winter. One day we were grocery shopping in the HEB store, when a Latino woman left her cart, came up, and said, in perfect English," Excuse me! I just had to tell you how much we appreciate y'all coming to Texas in the winter. Thank You!"

I happened to me also as I was riding in a jeepney I noticed a man was staring at me. I don't know him personally since that was the first time I saw him. He is throwing a dirty look at me. I just could not understand how he knew me.I don't remember having known him. Maybe it just happens to everyone.
