Just made hot pepper jelly and pickled the last of my jalapenos. Now what to do with the green tomatoes? I know they can be pickled but is it a sour or sweet pickle? I have never had them are they even worth making? anyone have answers to my questions?

Where I come from we always pickle green tomatoes, we even buy them especially for this purpose. (then again, as I've said before, we pickle pretty much everything around here :) ) The most common way is to put them together in jar with cauliflower, but you can also add jalapenos, grapes and melon, if you want. Celery leaves, mustard, vinegar, garlic and pepper are a must, of course. I like them very much, but I have to admit it's an acquired taste. My father won't touch them for anything in the world. Still, a jar of mixed pickles means there's something in there for anybody :)

I never had cauliflower pickled and our has all been eaten already but I will definitely keep in mind for next year. I like all flavors just wasn't sure what was supposed to be used with theses.I usually fry them green but we had a cold snap and have way too may little ones to do that to.
