Do you still enjoy the CSI shows?

I was a big fan of CSI since it started. I thought that New York and Miami would be exciting too. But lately, all three shows have lost their appeal to me. I am not too fond of the slow motions that Las Vegas likes. Grissom is gone and the show is now centered on Laurence Fishburne and Catherine Willows whose characters are just not that interesting and well-developed. Miami lost me several seasons ago - characters are annoying, they are always angry. New York is so-so, the characters are bland, although the latest addition seems to be interesting. I just watch them because everyone else is watching. How about you, do you still find any of the CSIs worth watching? Who is your favorite character and why?

I used to be a fan of CSI since the first episode. Here in Malaysia we get the show few season late. Now that I here grissom will be out. I thing it is not worth the wait. It's time to look for something new. For the rest of the group. Miami and New york, I prefer to watch Miami cause I like Haratio. Thats my 6 cents:)

Not to rain on your parade, but Grissom asked to leave so that he can pursue his other interests. But he is still one of the producers of the show which allows him to do as he pleases - after all the show has been raking in the profits for years. Who know someone geeky would haul in such a big audience?

Me too, not a fan of CSI Miami. I only watch it because everyone else is watching it. The characters in Miami are too overacting, they're always angry. Plus, I hate the voice of Calleigh Dusquene. I watch Psych during summer season because its one of the few shows that's playing. I am not a fan of Psych, although interestingly enough, I watch Medium and Ghost Whisperer. I like Gus though, reminds of my own superpower - my nose.

CSI is not only popular in the States but also in the Philippines. I have gotten a chance a few times to watch it and it was so educational. You get to wish that the investigation conducted on the series could also be done here in order to facilitate the solving of crimes. I also get to watch it from time to time but not anymore like I used to.

That's true, when I watch real crime stories here in the Philippines I would sometimes ask about DNA and fingerprints forgetting that we are way behind in terms of forensics. I think our CSIs collect all those evidence for the future. The police prefer to torture, err, investigate and get eyewitness account rather than rely on science. The recent bar exam bombing is one of the perfect time to make like the CSI. But that's wishful thinking...

Hi TheAdvocate! Honestly I do enjoy every CSI show. I find great joy in the forensic work they do. I always try to look out for the evidence too. I must say that some plots are more interesting than others though. But I love solving the puzzles, I love solving the crime as well.

You sound like my brother who enjoys guessing how the story would go. I sometimes find myself listening to the science discussed there and then googling about it later. Like you I also enjoy solving the crime while the plot is being unraveled.

Do you mean CSI LV? Grissom indeed holds the cast together. He is the only one unemotional when all the others start acting up. I am still hoping that the replacement will step up to the plate and measure up.

I never really got into CSI. I was always more of a Law & Order girl myself, growing up I LOVED it but never really watched CSI, which is kind of similar. I find myself watching it occasionally, when I flip the channels and it happens to be on.Honestly, it's a bit cheesy sometimes, but sometimes the episodes are really good too. Ii think it's worth watching more than the other crap they've got on TV these days - AKA shows like Jersey Shore - at least it's truthful, in a sense, and you learn something from it!

My family is also a big fan of Law & Order. We watch all the Law & Order series - yes, even Criminal Intent, and now Los Angeles. That show is interesting because they usually deal with difficult legal and moral questions. I agree, even if CSI is not that good, at least its better than most of the other shows. They do have good episodes sometimes, especially those dealing with tough questions. I just dislike the fact that their characters all become hyper-vigilant. It somehow puts me off a career in crime fighting.

I did too, especially in the earlier seasons. My brother likes to predict the outcome of the episode and would usually gauge where the story is going by the soundtrack that is playing and of course how popular the episode guest is, like when Justin Bieber came out.

Man.. i useed to be really intoCSI but now it like whatever. They just lost it. To many CSI's the first CSI was enough, they didn't have to keep coming out with other CSI shows. They have gotten to be very boring to me now. When i was watching it, i really didn't have a favorate charator in the shows. The funny thing ive noticed about all of the CSIs is that the new shows all tried to match the original charators, they all had the rooky or the geeky looking guys especially the CSI miami and the Las Vegas, they really looked alike.

I think that's the producers idea of the peole working in labs - geeks. Then they build stories where the geeks win in the end. And then the geeks become hyper-vigilant and look at every one as if they are criminals. Same old, same old. Except perhaps for Horatio who likes to portray the role of protector of the universe.

I used to be a CSI fan. I watched it since it started. It's really fascinating how the plots develop and how evidence is uncovered to solve the crime. I stayed on through the first two seasons, I think. I also watched some episodes of NY and Miami. However, my interest waned. I guess I got tired of watching crime and crime stories. I wanted something positive to watch and something inspiring.

Well they do solve the crime in the end, isn't that positive enough for you? Me, I prefer crime stories than medical stories. I don't know why though, when both have blood and gore all over the show. So what do you watch these days?

I never really followed CSI, i only watched if nothing else was on. I followed NCIS, and the new spin off NCIS: LA. It seems to be more action packed than CSI most of the time. Every once in a while I will catch the original to see Laurence Fishburne. I think that he is a fabulous actor, but not one i necessarily want to see stuck on a crime show for the rest of his career.

Me too! I love NCIS more than any of the CSIs - but I like the original one more than L.A. I have been following this show since I stumbled on one of its reruns. I just love the characters in the show like Abby. Plus I always see the new gadgets in the market in the show. I actually graduated to CSI because of NCIS.

I used to watch it when I was little because I thought that they were very cool and the actions were great. Now, I'm more into movies rather than CSI. I prefer watching HBO than watching CSI.

My family and I do enjoy watching watching CSI and all crime related shows. My favorite is criminal minds and my parents favorite is Law and Order. My girlfriend's favorite is NCIS. I pretty much like all the crime shows except I don't really watch any of the Law and Order shows. I do like NCIS, Criminal Minds, and CSI though, I also really like the new one with LL Cool J haha.

You mean NCIS LA. I do watch NCIS LA mainly because its NCIS - it has always been my favorite since I accidentally watched one rerun. I like NCIS LA because its the undercover version of NCIS and they certainly get into interesting situations. I did not like how they changed the character of Dom (even though I found him bland) because the story was not laid out too well. My mother on the other hand is a big fan of Law and Order. She even sits thru reruns even if she has already seen it.
