Some people really read word after word when they are reading a book. But some skip some line when they are reading. Like me, sometime i skip lines and sometime even paragraph when i was reading. I do this more often when i was reading interesting books, especially those adventurous. But after finish a book, I will read it all over again. How about you?

I do because I won't have clear understanding of the story or book if don't. I also look around for unfamiliar words that I can use in my vocabulary for future use. I only use skimming when I'm encountered a lot of text that seems to saying the same thing again and again.

When the book is a good one,I read it word by word. I skip some line or a page when it is no interesting.

I always read word for word - although my bad habit is if I read when I'm tired, I can be reading a few pages and not absorb any of it, so by the time I'm on page 3, I've already forgotten the action on page 2!

Some times I skip certian pages of the book that Im getting started with intill something interesting happens, this kinda reasures me that its worth reading and that things are getting interesting. After wards I do go back and get those all to important bits of information.

I would say it depends on what book I read. Generally speaking, I would finish a book sophisticated written line by line, while I would prefer skip some context or even waive the book if I find it's worthless. Yeah, time is precious. Right?

Yes, I read word for word. I think it makes it more understandable and interesting. When reading a novel, it would make the story more real to me like I don't wanna miss any part of the story. And also when reading books like books you have in school, I think it makes you understand more. Sometimes when I don't understand a paragraph or a sentence, I read it over and over again till I get it or just give up at times.

I skip all the small words. The, and of do not overtly change the meaning of any one sentence. they just do not register when i am reading. I love reading, and read for understanding, not for fluency when I am reading in my head. I do not skip paragraphs and lines though.
