Dear Arunmails I think you are also from India.Though I belong t Hindu religion I have no hastles in celebrating other religious festivals. When we were in college I regularly used to visit one ofmy Muslim friend to celebrate Id.My neighborer were a Muslims we used to wish and participate in their festivals. For that matter when I have grown up teenagers from my locality knowing my nature approached me once and they expressed their wish to hold an Orchestra/ band programme by their group.Finance was a big problem and inspite of my generoushelp the funds were not sufficient enough to meet the expenses. We were not keen raising the fund in the form of donations which in India we call it as Chanda which means contribution. So we have come up with a plan of arranging a lucky dip and we have printed tickets for a nominal price and sold to localites to raise the fund !We had a grand orchestra / band on the day of Christmas which is one of the most unforgettable memories in my life! I used to get Christmas Card from these youngsters regularly then...now with passing of the time every one is busy and I have no clue about these people! Thus I have no reservations in celebrating festivals of any religions. the idea behind cebrating festivals is to spread the word of brotherhood and happiness in the locality/ society you live in and I am always ready to do so! Thanks !
