How many true friends do you have?

Apart from my husband, I have three close friends. They all enrich my life indifferent things. My first best friend, is someone I grew up with from about the age of 9. We went to the same school. We have an unbreakable bond. I might not see her for months but we just start again where we left off. We would do anything for each other at the drop of a hat. My second best friend has so many similarities to me and family circumstances that we tend to confide in each other so much. We can talk about anything we like with no fear of it being repeated. My third best friend has the same sense of humour as me, we just about giggle at anything, she really cheers me up and brings out my funny side. We really enjoy each others company. How about you?

Yes a true friend doesn't happen over night. The relationship has to have gone through a testing time. Thanks for your comment.

I have had several friends. I think I don't remember all of them. But yes I remember the ones who were very close to me. Used to share almost each and everything. If I dint see them oneday used to feel bad. I remember all the memorable moments I shared with them. I guess they were my true friends

That is really something that is hard to really determine. My criteria on what determines a true friend is something that shifts an awfully lot. There are days where I consider one thing as a true friend, but really, there are other days, where I might not be as close to a person as I would like to think. So it is very trick to consider how many people I have. In the end, I have a select group of friends to begin with. I think maybe only a small fraction of that would be considered to be true friends. Perhaps about five percent of my overall group I would consider to be true friends. But like I said, it is a tricky thing to deal with, as this is something that varies time and time again. I keep really changing my mind of what I consider to be my true friends.
